Well I've added a new edition to my rather large collection of Glocks (I now have 2), the Glock 22 Gen 4. What a fine piece of engineering simplicity at it's best. I've read several articles on torture tests done with Glocks, only to come out of it with flying colours. No wonder the Police love this gun. I know that I'm very happy with my fine collection of Glocks.:cool: :ar15:

Glock 17 Gen 2

Lately I've noticed that a lot of dealers are selling the NYPD used Glock 17 with a NY trigger system. I've already looked at one. They're well used but the price is not to bad. I'm seriously thinking of purchasing one just to strip right down and rebuild it from scratch. Sort of like a project that I know I'll enjoy. I'll probably do some customization on it in order that it will out perform your standard Glock 17 Gen 4. Parts are readily available from the Glock Store.

This will be the perfect gun for me to work on as I wouldn't care if I f&%k up. I'll just start over again. This will definitely be a fun project.

Who's selling these pistols?

I purchased one of the NYPD Glock 22 (40 cal). The slide is in excellent condition while the frame leaves a lot to be desired. It's pretty rough (well worn) which doesn't bother me. This is my strip down to nothing then rebuild fall project. How hard is it to get a used replacement frame if possible?

It would be cheaper to buy a new pistol I believe. These frames are Gen 2, so if You would like to find one...it's going to be difficult.

Your probably right about the frame. As I stated in my previous thread though, it really doesn't matter. I've always wanted to tear one of these apart and put it back together. That is what I plan on doing with the one I purchased. There is no way that I would take a chance on stripping down my two personal Glocks, as they're the sum total of my big (grin) Glock collection and I would be really angry with myself if I somehow messed up.

I thought the latest police trade ins were gen 3? You could always contact irunguns about getting a frame brought in.. Lots of US dealers have them at a decent price
