Glock 22 or Springfield XD???

Looking for a little advise from the guys that have one or the other, or both!!!!

I am looking at getting into IPSC and have shot only the Glock 22 (my brother is a city cop).

I am torn between the Glock 22 and the Springfield XD. I like the looks of both but which would be a better piece for IPSC. Cartridge of choice will be the .40 S&W. My brother mentioned the Glock 35???

I have shot the SIG/Sauer. Like it a lot but don't want to spend $1100+ to get started. I need brass, bullets, primers etc, if I am to do any shooting this winter!!!!
