... with a 23 you get 9mm, .40 and .357 conversion barrels too so it is a favorite choice...$575? Nice....

Don't confuse grandfathered 12.6 prohibited with (aftermarket) re-barrelled-to-restricted.

It's apples and oranges...

All these links are to guns that have been converted to restricted, with longer barrels. I want to know if the original prohib. barrel ever made it into Canada. I suppose what I'm really asking is, was the model 23 around before our laws changed?

I have had several G23s, both the Gen 2, and Gen 3, and a few more G27s.

With the original shorter barrels, these were POLICE ISSUE for some departments. When dept needs changed, these were traded in or sold as surplus . When I bought my police trade in G23s and g27s, I rebarreled and reregistered all of them to make them easier to resell.

The G23 balances the best of all the Glocks for me,
however,
because in Canada it is near impossible to get a .22 LR AA conversion kit for the G23/G27 size frame,
I sold all my G23's and I now shoot a G22 set up in .357 SIG, 9 MM, .40 S&W, AND 22 LR.
YPMMV,
but this works best for me.

That clears things up, thanks. I saw the one on the EE, but it's a little too expensive, and too many mods. I prefer bone stock.

You would rather have a stock, older, Gen2? Glock 23 prohib than a restricted Gen 3 GLock 23 with a match grade barrel that can also handle reloads better? Interesting...

Yes, Graeco, I'd rather avoid modifications, and I don't really like the idea of having the barrel protrude from the slide. I'd rather buy a model 22, if I wanted a restricted model. I believe those of us who have a 12-6 PAL have an obligation to put a stop to converting prohibs to restricted.

New one on Sporteque site is quite a bit more expensive, did you find used one at that price... because it seems to be gone?

Amen brother, Amen. :)

Boxcoach, you and I agree. I personally hate seeing perfectly good 12.6 guns turned into restricted guns. It does NOT help with resale value and it further reduces the pool of cool guns in the country. There are plenty of us 12.6 licensed people out there who happily buy 12.6 guns when they come up for sale.
