Nutters,

I wanted to get your thoughts on the Subcompact Glocks.

Has anyone handled a Glock 43 next to a 26? I'm leaning towards the use of Glock 17 mags but the 43 looks quite interesting. It's just going to be a range toy.

Just curious if anyone has an experience with the 26 and the 43.

Both great guns, all depends on what you feel comfortable with.

I would point out the mags for the 43. The flat base leaves the grip too short for me, so the one with the little pinky extension fits better. Shouldn't be a surprise that it worked 100%, but I did wonder if my grip, or lack of might induce a malfunction. And of course, up here it has the stupid long barrel to make it restricted. Accurate little gun.

The 26 fills the hand better, but again, for me, the mag extensions work better. It shoots as well as my 17 and 19.

Hopefully you can handle and maybe shoot both before you decide which is best for you.

P.

I have shot both recently and prefer the 43 to the 26 which I found difficult to get a good grip on. However, the 43 is a litttle carry gun so not necessarily best choice for us up here. Either one will have to have the awful barrel sticking out of it.

I've always had a soft spot for the 26 and being a truly smaller traditional Glock I still lean towards it (double stack, same width). I've heard of a few malfunctions Southside with the 43, but we tend to only hear the negate feedback.

I haven't tried the 43 yet, but my 26 gen 4 points well, shoots well and with a little undercut on the trigger guard you can really grip it alot better. Also nice to be able to use whatever 9mm glock mags I have lying around and the 10rd is flush. If I had to do it again I'd still buy it over the 43 and it'll never be for sale.

The overall size is pretty close, its the thickness thats a big difference. If you have fairly large mitts then the 42/43 will probably be too small for you, but you'd have to hold it to know. Mellows are you in the Calgary area?

I have a 43 and shot the 26 before. I like the 43 with extended base plates. The 26 would shoot better for a variety of reasons but I bought the 43 as a range toy, possibly IDPA gun

I pulled the trigger on a Glock 26 Gen 3. Questar listed one on their site but they had two I believe. Austria made. Storm Lake Stainless. The mag capacity and familiarity with the dimensions of the full size helped.

Are the Storm Lake barrels good?

I guess no factory barrels for us 4"+ Canadians from Glock

I checked and Questar is sold out on all compacts, you prob got the last one

Chev,

I saw one on the site and called and they told me they had two available. The Storm Lake barrels are nicer then lone wolf in my humble opinion. I had a ported SL for a glock and it was beautiful.

Do give them a call. I would try IRUNGUNZ as well. I know they have Glock 43's. They can get Glock 26's less the barrel.
