Glock 29 Holster for ATC...

I'm looking for a new holster to use for ATC handgun carry for my G29 10mm handgun normally I would want these kinds of holsters in leather but this one is for the wettest weather that I will be out in so a synthetic is what I am looking for.

I also want a thumb break not a retention strap for extra holding power if I get swept down stream ever or flip out of the jet boat and it needs to be made from some kind of synthetic either hard or soft.

Any thoughts...

I really like the Safariland 6004 series, you can get them in mid-ride (Drop-UBL) option.

All hard plastic, with a lining inside, has a tension adjustment and a rotating hood safety.
I removed the plastic guard above the holster and kept the SLS safety

Also not interested in paddle or drop leg holsters but very interested in a cross draw, couldn't find one on Safarilands site.

I dumped the "drop leg" strap and replaced it with what they call a "drop UBL" (IIRC the UBL = Universal Belt Loop), it's plastic with belt slots, what's nice about it is that it puts the gun just bellow the jacket (waist line).

IMHO in a cross-draw setup, the SLS hood lock would not allow for a smooth operation (if speed is required)

I saw that you had switched your set up from the drop leg to the UBL system any way of changing the angle so it could be used as a cross draw?

I have now been searching Safarilands site there are a couple holsters there that I would consider I really only need retention level 1 & 11 tops and if I need to draw in the bush I would not be wanting to be messing around with to many locks...

I'll try and get over to Dave's tomorrow afternoon and check out what they have.

The UBL version I have does not have any angle adjustments, it's a straight up and down draw.
Also, the only 'locks' I have are the side tension and the SLS safety strap. I removed that hood above the SLS, although I can see how it provides added safety for a grab attempt by a bad guy, it gets somewhat in the way for 'normal' operation.

Also a Pro-2 from Uncle Mikes Law Enforcement series is nice, those can be adjusted for angle and worn on a belt. They are nylon with thick padding and have a flexible but hard plastic thumb snap for retention. I have those also and is a very rugged holster and would be a good choice after the Safariland.

I find the Serpa holster to have very strong retention, and yet it's smooth and easy to release. I've got a Safariland holster too but I find the Serpa way easier to use.

Just checked doesn't look like they make a Serpa for the G29 with rails.

I just put my G29 in my G20 serpa holster. It fits, but it's very tight. You could put the upper edge of the holster in boiling water and then put the G29 in it, and that should do it. Of course, that's a bit of a chore having to modify something that should already be perfect.

Just curious, I thought ATC's were only available for revolvers for predator protection?
