I have a Glock 34 Gen 4 and would like to lean on you more experienced folks for good holster options.

I'm looking for a holster to shoot 3gun. The only stipulation that my club has specified is that it must cover the trigger, and not be a race holster. Oh yes and that it must be on the belt, so no chance using my Model 29.

Any suggestions? My G34 is the MOS version and I plan throw on an optic in the future, so it would preferably be compatible with that.

Cheers!

I highly recommend Soley Canadian. Have a few and they are top quality. Unsure of optic compatible but they can definitely let you know.

I prefer the Comp-Tac International over the Blade Techs. Have both.

Site sponsor Beetle Outdoor carries them

Thanks a lot for your input guys. I ended up buying a 5.11 Tactical Series ThumbDrive Level 2 Retention holster off of G37. Especially since you can disable the retention mechanism if desired.

Cheers!

Anything but a SERPA. I recommend Safariland ALS or SLS holsters, as well as Raven Concealment and Solely Canadian for standard kydex holsters. But no SERPA.

I have the 511 and a solely Canadian with WRS. Solely Canadian is way better. Thumb drive is slow.

I worry about slide wear with kydex holsters. No sense in depreciating a restricted any more than necessary.

Any wear concerns with a 5.11 holster?

All holsters will wear on the finish of a gun. Wear on a slide give a gun character and for those who understand pistols it won't make any difference in resale value especially if you are talking a Glock or M&P. They are never going to be collector items. If you want to maintain the finish on a gun you use a lot buy a gun pouch, fleece lined and carry a clean rag with you to wipe down and carbon soot that may have adhered to the slide before returning the gun to the pouch.

Take Care

Bob
