Glock 37?

If you're interested in the concept of a 45 in a compact, 'plastic' gun, you should look at the Taurus 24/7.
Small, light, easy to get along with grip size, and uses 45ACP.

I think it's a great idea and won't ever knock the GAP (I mean my friggin nick name is G37).

However, the idea doesn't seem to be catching on, and Glock just displayed a slighlty slimmer version of the Glock 21 at the 2007 shot show which kinda knocks the G37 a little.

As far as performance on the G37 there is nothing wrong with it. It's exactly the same size (frame) as a G17 and the ballistics are for all intents and purposes identical to the .45acp.

The only problem you will ever have is finding ammunition - if that is not a problem, you will enjoy it :)

Actually I bought a G37 a few months ago and I have ran into the ammo problem. By your name, do you have one by chance and have found ammo?

I have owned one :) (two in fact) Ammo is not so bad here now in the Lower Mainland , BC; someone usually has a few boxes for sale.

I did get my first one though when they first came out and I went months without ammo.

Taurus is a nice firearm. Only issue is you can not get parts for it in Canada.
Glocks are reliable, and glock parts are everywhere. My vote is still for Glock.

I've had a G37 for two and half years now and absolutely love it. I reload so ammo is not an issue whatsoever. For me, its the perfect balance of power, size and recoil, in fact I enjoy it so much my G17 and G22 seem to spend more time at home and less and less time at the range. I love the concept of a .45 caliber gun that feels identical to the other two Glocks I own. I feel it is one of the best pistols Glock has produced. The new G21SF from what I hear are still a bit on the chunky side, but do carry 13rds (not an issue with our 10rd mags in Canada), so I believe the G37 is the perfect Glock, its the same size as a 9mm or .40S&W Glock, holds the same amount of ammo, recoil is tame, a nice push that is easy to realign the sites back on target for quick follow up shots. Plenty of power, of the six factory JHP's I have tested they all perform at or above .45ACP specs.

I am more than happy with my G37, its my favorite Glock in my trio and its incredibly accurate. I can't think of anything else I could want in a .45 caliber pistol!

I'd just add my voice to the list of those with ammo concerns. Far from finding any deals or anything, you are going to run into problems just finding .45 GAP ammo at all, even in the major centres.

If I bought one, I would make sure I could line up 4000 rounds at a half decent price, and factor that into your decision to purchase the gun. Don't buy one and then hope to pick up a few boxes of 50 here and there. That would just be too frustrating. Lots of going to/calling the store and finding that they don't have any.

Maybe if it starts to catch on in the U.S. this problem will start to go away. The new 2007 Glock Annual/Glock Autopistols magazine has a story about how the Georgia State Police and New York State Police have adopted these guns as their duty pistols. Last year the same magazine was touting some small-time local police force in Georgia as the first to adopt the .45 G.A.P. Glock has been pushing this cartridge pretty hard for several years, and even with all their zillions and their huge market share, they haven't seemed to be able to get it to catch on.

I haven't tried a Glock 37, by all accounts it is a nice pistol. I'd just be a bit hesitant about the ammo situation right now.

As far as ammo concerns go, I think its more a problem in Canada than in the US. All the major players are loading a variety of loads for the GAP and there are four State police agecies going to the GAP pistols. Guys in the states that have GAP pistols love them and have access to ammo, something that hasn't yet happened here in Canada. Like I said, I reload so for me a supply of ammo isn't a concern, I have 3k cases, .45 caliber bullets are easy to find and small pistol primers....I've got 30k of them in my stash for 9mm and .40S&W loading. The guns seem to be few and far between in Canada and ammo even more scarce. The problem isn't that the caliber isn't catching on (its got more state police adopting it than the .357 SIG) its just that it seems to be very slow in Canada. All the people that I know in the US that have a GAP pistol love them and don't complain about ammo, its easy for them to get online and order anything (usually at a bit less cost than .45ACP). For me, I love the GAP Glocks, I feel they are one of the best in the entire Glock lineup, like everything else when it comes to a source of good cheap ammo, Canada leave much to be desired.

Are any of those stores online and will ship to Ontario? Thanks.
