Anyone out there in CGN land know where a guy and find a Glock 40-9 barrel that won't take months to get.

Yes, Ellwood Epps has an IGB Glock 22 40-9 conversion barrel, brand new, for $280 in their "Discounted Accessories" / Barrels section. I finally asked which model it was, and they updated the listing. The barrel has been there forever without anyone ever asking...
SFRC is now bringing in well-priced Storm Lake barrels. They have a Glock 22 40-357 conversion barrel ... I would totally buy one if I owned a Glock 22. I have one for my Glock 23 -- how can you NOT?
I have a threaded one, by Lone Wolf. Their coatings don't fail as quickly as they used to! This one seems to be holding up as well as the factory barrel at similar round count.

No. Conversion barrels work for both G3 and G4.
$280 is a lot for a Glock aftermarket barrel. I have both IGB (I paid a lot less) and stainless LW. The finish on the LW is better than the IGB. No difference in performance and the LW is a lot cheaper.

That is interesting. I heard that the IGB barrels were tenifer coated and of a high quality. I have had mixed results with the Lone Wolf conversion barrels, one was good but the black coating came off quite quickly and the other one had an undersized chamber so only factory ammo ran reliably in it, it would only take about 30% of my reloads. Lone Wolf said I could send it back and they would open it up a little.
I have a KKM now and I love it, second one that I have owned and they are excellent but almost impossible to find, bought mine on the EE a few years back.

The IGB finish is plasma nitride and lasts but both of mine have lots or machining marks and looks like crap. No problems with the 2 LW stainless barrels I have.
It would be cheaper to buy a new G17 and keep the slide assembly and sell the frame.

I have an IGB 40-9 barrel. It is not installed because I need a G17 extractor(?). It does not have a slight offset like the drop-in LW 40-9 conversion barrel.
The IGB is match grade with traditional rifling. I will check the booklet later.

No you don't, don't need a G17 ejector or mags even. You can even use your G22 mags, works just fine with my Gen4 G22.
