I'd say g17 because of mags. You could by a 19, 34, 26 and still use same mags.

17 mags also a dime a dozen so you can find them cheap used or new. Tons of aftermarket parts for g17

Thanks for all the input, much appreciated.
Without the ability to handle either of these pistols, or having a 4.5 hr drive and leaving the province, I decided on the less expensive of the options.
As long as the 48 fits my hand, Im sure ill like it.
Ill upgraded the sights, as soon as I have some spare $, and maybe the trigger.. Some reviews say Glocks can have a inconsistent triggers.. hopefully it will be in the 5-6lb area.

I don’t find Glock triggers to be as bad as everyone says lol, I honestly think it’s blown way out of proportion. They may not be the “ best” striker fired trigger but they are consistent and if you can shoot a stock Glock trigger well then you can shoot anything lol :)
If you don’t want to drop $200-300 on an aftermarket trigger you can always YouTube “ Glock 25 cent trigger upgrade” and polish a few bits, it helps. My go to these days is the Agency Arms Syndicate trigger, they are only around $100 and work very well, not positive they will work in a 48, but if not I’m sure they will have a version that does soon

In doubt, get an aftermarket trigger bar and it's an easy "upgrade" for 40$.

I'm super pleased with my Glock 48. I predominantly shoot a Glock 34 (and Sig P226) and find that the smaller frame isn't too small for my hands at all.

My G48 is incredibly mechanically accurate - easy to point, easy to track the Hi-Viz front sight through recoil.

Also, on the subject of triggers, the best trigger job for any Glock is shooting about 2000 rounds through the pistol - smooths right out. :)
