Hello fellow CGNer's, I've been shooting mostly 1911's, P220's, CZ75's, you know.. Heavy steel guns with large calibers and managed recoil.

Now a bunch of years back, I experimented with a couple glock 17's, I Gen 2, and Gen 3 and I found the recoil to be all over the place, mostly because the double stack magazine didn't allow me to grab it properly, and I didn't care for the ergonomics, I also tried an M&P, and a USP, both of which seemed to jump around like crazy, I believe the USP was in 40 S&W.

To my surprise, I bought a Glock 44 in .22 and it is a blast, it feels good in my hand, I'm putting holes in paper and I know it's a .22 with barely any recoil and a cute little pop.

So I started looking and Glock makes a single stack, beaver tailed G48 in 9mm with a 10 round mag, any input? I know the sights aren't the greatest and I'd obviously change those right away.

Let me know!

I really like the G48. Think it is my favorite all around Glock.

Glock plastic sights are place holders until you can replace them with real ones... or buy the Amerigo model from the start.

I bought the G48 MOS, thinking that with my big hands I wouldn't like it? wrong, and I had shot a single stack 9mm, so I was prepared. I did add a Hogue grip just to give me a little "girth" in the grip. Its a great shooter and one of my favorites. If we could "carry" this would be a "no brainer" IMO.

G48 is an interesting compact pistol. I found it had more noticeable recoil flip than full sized.

G48 is definitely my favorite of the gang.

Truly wishes Shadow Systems make one in the future.

Great pistol despite it being a bit small for my hands. Eats everything I put in it and shoots as straight as you could hope for. I plan to add an MOS version to my collection as well, sooner or later.

This might help?

Compare the width of a Glock 17 mag., with one from the 48. Barely a difference at all.

And I believe in the states, one can get a 15 rounder to fit in the Glock 48, flush with bottom of frame.

Not exactly a single stack gun, IMO.

Definitely a Difference! ...

Yup. Put one in your pocket and tell me there isn't a difference!

I think they're fantastic, and clearly in a league of their own here in Canada with our barrel length restrictions. Less so in the US but even there they have a niche.

If you have smaller hands the G48 definitely allows you to obtain a more secure grip and alignment. I hate Glocks except for G43 and G48.

I have CZ and Sig and my 22lr upper for my P226 is absolute pure fun to shoot ! I have a gen 5 17 and looked at the 48 but if you wear a large glove your going to have your pinky finger dangling below the grip on the 48 that was my turn off for it. For me personally I would have to track down those +1 extensions for the magazines to get rid of the pinky dangle to make it something I would be interested in. For smaller shooters its a great choice. Its a glock tho just smaller then the 17 so that is the only real difference.
The glocks that come with ameriglo sights tho rock I like them so much for my gen 5 17 that I picked up a set for my P226 ! Glocks with the ameriglo sights are the version you want to look for and the 48 comes with them ! Here is a link with a nice photo of the ameriglo sights

Ooohh that's the one. Maybe I can convince her to buy me that for my quickly approaching birthday!

The fit in my hand says there’s a world of difference.
