Guys, I'm interested in an aimpoint COA for my G48. I'm not interested in cutting the slide I have, rather a new slide.

I have no idea where to go though? I should be able to buy just the slide and optic and run it on mt current frame right? I mean, the frame is still the "gun" right?

That would work. If you can't find a slide in Canada, should be able to source one out of the US.
Ask TacOrd about doing the milling.

I also been planning to get my slide milled by TacOrd, but can’t find any shop that carry the optic.
The only one I see for sale is the COA-R. Anybody have any luck finding one in Canada or am I better off just ordering it from the US.

Did something similar with my G48. Have a second OEM slide that was milled by Tac Ord for an RMRcc. Only real downside is that the RMRcc footprint is basically unique to it, so I'm stuck with that arrangement. When the P320 was banned from IDPA, I switched to my G48. The window on the RMRcc is substantially smaller than the SRO I'm used to, so it's taken some getting used to.

Good luck on your hunt.

buying a 48 COA with factory A-CUT and having irunguns import everything minus the frame might be easiest and cheapest if you can find a 48 COA, then you get spare parts too. a 43(x?) COA with radian ramjet is another more expensive option.

I bought a separate slide for my RMRcc direct from Brownells a few years back.

The RMRcc is kind of portly on top of the G48 slide, and the COA is even wider.
I'd stick it on a full size-wise pistol like a G19 or G17, but would look to other solutions for the G48 - imho.

Also not sure what is available for slides with that new 'A cut'.

Just knock out the rear sight with a brass punch and use a dovetail adaptor plate , for the correct optic footprint

I mean maybe if you want.

Forget the name of the company….. but have used them on my 48 and 34 …… my walther ppq has the ability to completely remove the whole thing (rear sight / base ) and put correct optic footprint in.

Outer something…. From the picture

No issues with running a new slide on your G48 though personally i would stick to a factory G48 slide for maximum compatibility. Also make sure you do not get a MOS slide...if you are going the direct milled route...I do not believe they can convert the MOS to A like they can with RMSc. There is no MOS to COA Adapter plate like there is for other optics

You also may find that none of the custom milling shops are set up for the A-Cut yet. It's new enough, that it hasn't gained that much popularity. Suggest Reaching out to Tacord directly as they do not have A-Cut listed as an option currently.

As Ex3dy mentioned probably easier to get the slide and optic ordered out of the US and imported (won't be cheap tho).

Curious... why the COA?

I'm leaning that way because it's shake-awake, size of the dot, green, co-witnesses with the irons, I like the concept of the A-Cut mount, closed emitter makes sense though the silly mailbox look is undesirable. I offset that by the fact that it's width matches very closely to the slide...so, although boxy, adds no width.
