Jefferson he left out the fact Gen 4 slides were cracking with heavy use, and the Glock design was dated. The Gen5 addressed most of the issues, redesigning the slide, the frame and the trigger group. Aside from that the Glock Gen5 is the same Glock your Daddy owned. KiddX aka TDC aka.... got banned because most, not all, of what he posted was nonsense including what you just copied. His problem, when it came to the 320 was the US Army did not contact him for advice.
The SIG 320 won the US Army contract because the 320 aka M17 fulfilled the requirements of the US Army, now accepted by their Navy, Air Force and Marines, better than the competitors. It is far and away a better design. Move on. Glock lost SIG won.
The Glock redesigned Gen5, does nothing more than attempt to catch up to other premier offerings such as the SIG 320, CZ P10, S&W M&P Gen2 and Walther PPQ, all four of which are the equal of the Gen5 and offer in addition, key improvements. Having said that, there is nothing wrong with the Glock pistol and the Gen 5 offers a significant improvement over past iterations. The Gen 5's only downfall is that it offers no significant features the other four guns I listed don't have and doesn't offer some of the things the new guns do. There are a host of other makes that do compete with the Glock at the same level, their fan clubs are just smaller. All are very good designs and all will serve their owners well.
Today's striker fired world is not what it was in 1985. There are very few dogs being produced and as consumers we have a wide variety of choices. When we buy our favourite blaster we don't have to be butt hurt when our favourite fails to win some military contract nor do we have to act like we own the company.
