Is it possible to convert a fullsize .40 Glock into a 9mm? Any kits for this? Thanks for any info. Its for a buddy of mine who wants to shoot it for IPSC.

I don't know if IPSC would allow such a conversion (I assume you mean production?).

But yeah, all fullsize Glocks share the same frame, so all you need is the slide and barrel. :)

Slide and barrel? Magwell area is the same for .40 and 9 I think right? Any idea on price? Does it matter that its a conversion? Its all factory parts and there is no benefit to anybody on the conversion. Sides who could even tell? The reason my buddy wants to change is that he shoots in another division and has all his reloading gear setup for .40 for an STi and doesnt want to change loads for his Glock. But with factory 9mm being so cheap its an easy fit.

How much would a slide and barrel cost? I wonder if just trading the .40 for a 9 might make more sense?

I used to have a LoneWolf 9mm barrel for my G35. Ended up buying a G34 and selling the barrel, but not because it didn't work. As someone stated earlier, you can't use it in IPSC Production, and you probably wouldn't want to shoot a 9 in Standard. Can't use it for IDPA SSP either, or GSSF. So, if you just want it as a range gun, it will work fine.

The barrel just drops in, and you need to use a 9mm magazine. Empties get ejected pretty close to the gun, but I didn't have any FTF or stovepipes in the 200 or so rounds I ran through it. If you wanted to make a permanent conversion, you could just order a new 9mm ejector from Lonewolf. The barrel wall is thicker than normal, so you end up with a heavier barrel. Combined with the already heavier slide in the G35, and a tungsten guiderod, the gun barely moved in recoil. Too bad you can't use it in competition since it was a really sweet setup.

Impulse Barrels

I bought an Impulse barrel in 9mm from a fellow CGNer for my Glock 22. All you need are 9mm mags and the barrel. It's a drop in. The Model 22 extractor and ejector work flawlessly. The barrel is very accurate. They are made in Austria. It has turned out to be one of my most accurate 9mm's.
I don't know if there is a Canadian dealer around but his website is:

The barrels even come with a factory 5 shot target.

The Lone Wolf 9mm barrels work good in the Glock 40cal equivilents. Just use 9mm mags and give er. The stainless Lone Wolf barrels look pretty sweet in the G35 given the slide cuts on top...
