For converting .40-9mm anyone have experience with the Storm Lake or Lone Wolf offerings? Just wondering if one is more reliable than the other.

I have a LoneWolf 40-9 for my G22. Very accurate barrel. Zero issues other than a slightly tighter chamber requiring me to seat my bullets a little deeper.

No issues with factory ammo though?

That's exactly the application I'm looking to use it in.

I unded up selling the G22 and the conversion barrel and got a G17 instead because 90% of the time I was shooting 9mm ammo out of the gun. I have to say I think I liked the previous set up better. Heavier G22 slide with a thicker basically bull barrel it was a nice shooting gun! G22 and my current G17 are gen4, I was also using g17 recoil spring assembly with the lone wolf barrel.

I wouldn't mind a G17 slide to use on my G22 RTF2 frame but the LW 40-9 bull barrel works well. Same here, 95% of my shooting on the G22 has been with 9mm.

The weights of the pistols are nearly identical, the G22 weighs 15 grams more.

I notice that when I see them listed they don't really specify Gen3 or Gen4, anyone know if there are fitment issues with them?

never cared to look up the specs, but if you look at G17 slide it has milled cuts on the inside where G22 doesn't, bigger barrel gap at the muzzle and 40-9 conversion barrel is a bit heavier than a stock .40 barrel. I can tell you it FEELS noticeably heavier and I can notice the difference shooting it.

Was your gun a Gen3 or Gen4? I ask for barrel conversion research purposes.

Gen4 but I dont think it matters, at lest with LoneWolf barrels they dont require fitting. Some other 'match grade' ones might.

little bit of advise: dont get a LW in black finish, it rubs off super easy. Stainless is the way to go with these.

I have had 3 LWD barrels and 1 had a very tight chamber that was good with factory ammo but would only take 30% of my reloads. The other 2 LWD barrels worked fine so it was just that one that was too tight. LWD offered to re chamber it but I did not bother.

I have KKM conversion barrels that are superior to the LWD products, I would recommend KKM over LWD.

My Glock 22 Gen 3 with Lone Wolff 40-9mm will eject the brass on the top of my head. Works fine just ejects the brass into my hat. I'm using a stock Glock 9mm magazine and no other modifications. This is with my reloads near the top of the powder charge range for 9mm 115 grain lead projectiles. But it has been a while since I took the Glock out so memory is foggy EH!
