GLOCK dillema

So I'm thinking I'm sold on getting a .45,

I took a trip to Wholesale the other day to pick up some 9mm bullets and compared the G17 to the G21 side by side. I have to admit, I have fairly long (if not meaty) fingers, but comparing the G21 to the G17, just felt off. It's kind of that feeling you get when you try to grip a chinup bar that's too wide, but maybe I'm crazy.

I picked up a 1911 and compared it to the G21 and the G17 as well, and it had a more right feel to it. I fired a few 1911's at my club a few months back, and the recoil on them already kicked my butt - leading me to wonder if the comparatively feather weight G21 would work that well for me.

I'm now almost contemplating picking up a Norinco 1911 knock off.

On a seperate note, this is my G17 in one configuration;

Is it true that shoulder fired weapons like the CX4 Storm has to be capped with a 5 round magazine?

NO, Cx4 uses 10 round Beretta 92/96 pistol mags!

btw I also want a 1911 for my next gun, great choice for 25 even up to 50m shoting; but 9mm has a bit better range (flatter shooting) than .45ACP just an FYI..

Have you looked at a G21 SF? The grip is a little shorter back to front. Also, the G21's low bore axis really helps with recoil, I find my G21 more comfortable to shoot than my 1911.

Magazines marked "CX4" have to be pinned to 5 rounds because they're designed for rifles. Magazines for 92/96/etc. handguns can hold 10 rounds, and there are no laws saying you can't put a handgun magazine in a rifle.

My guess is that I would take a long look at the Glock 22. Why? You can buy a 357 Sig barrel and have the best of two worlds, I have never reloaded 357 Sigs but you should remember they have a shoulder. The 357 Sig is a hoot to shoot, you get recoil, flame, bang, and a damned good defensive round. Lastly, you can buy a 9mm barrel and 9mm magazines. you now have tree toys in one. Regards, Richard:D
