Glock failure / ZEV trigger

Hi

I have my glock 17 Gen 3 since 5-6 years. In the past 2 year I have been doing upgrades on it that did not made it better at all. I have been changing almost every part, and bought a complete ZEV fulcrum trigger set with the titanium skeletonized striker.

However, i had a lot of trouble: almost 1/2 light primer strikes, and slide not locking completly forward almost 1/10 times. So i put a harder striker (6 lbs) and still got light strikes, but maybe half less.

I changed the adjustment of pre travel and after travel and today I thought I had found a good setup. But after 50-75 rounds, I started to have rounds fired on trigger reset.

My gun is properly cleaned and assembled, I already checked. I have trouble when putting back my gun to stock, Since I have maybe 10000 rounds fired through my gun, maybe my OEM springs need to be changed.

Is there’s a solution to use the ZEV kit in a reliable way? Or should I buy a whole new set of springs ?

Thanks a lot!

Xavier

GLOCK here in Canada would be happy to reinstall your factory parts so you will have a reliable and safe pistol that will keep you shooting for a lifetime.

Glock is an interesting gun. I personally do not like them, BUT, one thing you can not take away from them is reliability. The number one reason I have seen Glock malfunction is the owner does some "gunsmithing" in the attempt to make it "better". You have three choices as far as I can see.

1. Return it to a stock setup.
2. Send it to a competent Glock armourer (not your buddy....) to set it up in the way you want.
3. Continue your quest in making your Glock "better".

I have one stock because I need it for my IPSC production. Then I have one that is Zev tricked out as far as you can imagine (plus more). I experienced light primer strike (only on the modded one) but then I concluded that it was the ammo for my case. CCI, Remington (green box stuff), FOC reload and X-Metal never had a issue but I have tried some other brand like Sumbro and PMC then I had some light primer. But I do agree that my stock Glock never had any issue at all with anything. Not the best looking or best shooter but I can trust a factory Glock 100%. The gun is so reliable it is almost boring LOL

If it's firing on reset, check the connector for wear or if its out of spec, or try throwing in your stock one if it's still around, and check your firing pin safety spring, it may be borked.

Or if you're really bored, call ZEV's tech line, they are really good and will get you sorted.

Thanks a lot guys I wrote to ZEV in order to have their opinion, and I will also try to put back a stock connector ! I bought the OEM parts that I needed to put it back to stock.

Thanks a lot, I’ll keep you aware if I find the trouble !!

Installed the Fulcrum on a glock 17.

I keept the factory 3.5 connector. The Zev one DID NOT function. Dead trigger after fireing. Did not reset.

So far 1 light strike after 200 rounds.

First time ever I get problems with this Glock. Might go back with the factory firing pin spring.
