need 17 gen 5 mos
Any chance you get some G48 MOS??
Not looking good. PR said yesterday only 4 more likely going to make it and likely all for existing backorders.
I don't understand why everyone wants an MOS so bad. Yesterday there was 2 hours in the morning and an hour late last night you could buy a 17 regular easily from here or another retailer. You can buy a 48 right now in stock. For the $150-200 upcharge for an MOS, you can send the slide to blackbox for milling and you have a solid mount setup that wont shake loose every 500 rounds. Worried about future proofing then have blackbox do a plate setup for like 100 bucks more then an MOS. The fact that entire threads exist on how to keep MOS plates and screws from falling off is not really what you want to see. Or better yet buy a FN509 which has the best optic setup out of anyone. None in stock? then buy a p320 with an optic cut. Then in 5 years you can convert to another caliber or gun.
Of course in normal times this doesn't apply and you buy the MOS you want but were like 48 hours away from the door closing on new imports. The fact that people are holding out for an MOS incase is nuts to me. If you want a 17 48 hell any Glock at all, yesterday was the day to buy and today or tomorrow might be the last day. If you see one in the next few days for god sakes buy it. Figure out an optic later. There likely will only be less then 50 more G17s coming to the country. Hopefully in the fall PP wins the election and reverses this #### but we could be years before we can buy again and maybe never again. Do you really want to miss the boat and then spend 30 years with no glock because they didn't have one with tapped holes in the slide and you waited to long? Or do you want one and can handle a week without it for an optic cut that is better and almost the same price.

Somewhat agree. MOS is a substantial savings over Blackbox work, particularly if having them do the Agency system. Having them mill the slide, if not doing the AA system, means you need to know your optic ahead of time; I suspect this is many people’s first jump into an OR pistol so they likely don’t know. If you already have a 17, sticking with the same platform makes sense. If you already have a 17, then you already have one to send off so don’t need to buy another if MOS is unavailable. Unlike the 17 MOS, the 48 MOS is direct mount. I’ll certainly buy another if one pops up.
FN509 may have the best mounting system. I don’t know, haven’t seen it. But the 509 will be like every other FN product; a marginally supported orphan product with a short production run. They may be outstanding guns, but not since the Hi-Power have FN produced a widely accepted pistol. Not exactly the platform I’d be jumping into when it is likely to be a lifetime gun by necessity.
P320, I think you’re bang on. I can’t believe how many of these are still sitting at retailers. If I wasn’t already established with Glock I’d be all over the P320. The modularity and acceptance by the US Army guarantees the future of the P320 and provides awesome flexibility.
At this point I am looking for specific guns, G48 MOS being one of them.. Sue me
Glock 48 mos isn’t as much more compared to other mos versions cause you aren’t getting plates with it. Have to be purchased separate. More like 75-100 bucks more
The 48 MOS is direct milled for an rms shield footprint and if you file the nubs down on the slide you can put a holosun 507k x2 directly on the slide for direct mount.
If you send one to black box it'll cost like 200$ for the cut, and then I believe it was like 150-200 mandatory cerakoting. So you're looking at closer to 400 dollars plus a few months without the gun to get it milled.
As for the 320... I wouldn't be surprised if some are ignoring them because of the prior drop safe issues with them/the magazine cost and availability in comparison to glocks.
i think the question should be whether or not to dual-wield vs mos cut!! Yes, yes i think i do need another one...

I'm not saying guys who already have them or anyone for that matter should buy what they want. But I have seen many posts of people with 0 guns waiting for a specific model like they have months. That's all I'm saying. If you have no Glocks and you want Glocks, then buy them don't wait for a gen 5 17 MOS when its very unlikely that ship has sailed.

I agree, People with 0 handguns that want handguns, Don't have time to waste and can't be picky.

likely next week. we will update as we know more
Just a heads up. Ordered a G48 (Thank you). The next morning I received a message that my BMO credit card (one I used for this purchase) was compromised. Now I have to wait for a new card to be sent. This is the only thing I've bought using this card in a long time and the next day it's compromised. Might want to check for viruses etc. I used my iphone, so I know it's virus free on my end.
Cibc froze my other purchases elsewhere. I had to call them. Was it a not a often used cc. Make sure the g48 purchase went through.. im sure you looked into that.
