Glock Gen 3 Grip size vs Gen 4 which backstrap?

Yesterday I held my friend's new Glock 19 gen 3 and I Loved the feel. Then i picked up a glock gen 4 and it didnt feel as good. I was told the glock was using the smallest strap. Which one will be equivalent to gen3's grip?

The medium backstrap makes the Gen 4 G17 the same size and shape as a Gen 3 G17.

I know the feeling! I recently bought a Gen 4 Glock 17 thinking that I needed the extra 2mm of trigger reach that the smaller frame afforded, but I quickly discovered that I shoot better (and the gun feels better to me) with the medium backstrap installed. Oh well, live and learn I guess...

Yeah, I actually use the large back strap on my Gen4. Not that I have big hands I just like where it places my finger on the trigger. I shoot best with it.

i havent shot my gen4 yet but it feels the best with out the extra backstraps.

i prefer the small backstrap on Gen4 - but this makes the trigr finger extend way out over the guard, and when i switch to the medium strap the grip feels funny but the trigger finder is about right. this becomes a real pain for fast draw and tap. I really prefer M&P's grip but love my Glock 2 much right now anyway. cheers

I like using the largest backstrap on my Gen 4 Glock 22. Makes my grip feel alot better and seems to give me better control.
