I just received my Glock Gen 4 22 in 40 SW today.
Well, now the mag release is bigger from factory (it's like 3/8" square) , but still not very tall and it is some what "extended" due to it's size...
The Texture... It's in between the Standard Gen 3 and the RTF2, the diamond shape points are much less and further apart.
The grip pieces is very ugly, looks like cheap plastic. It fits alright and changing of the pieces seems not too bad.
The recoil spring / guide rod is what I not like the most. It's SO MUCH stiffer, and the guide rod end is BIG and sticks out alot at the barrel end! YUKE! I will have to shoot it and see if it shoots various loads ok because the recoil spring is SOO heavy.
Other than that, it's the same gun.
OH, they changed the way they WERE going to have the magazine latch.
It was somewhat known to us that they were going to go CENTER latched.
BUT instead, they gone LEFT AND RIGHT latched. So the mags now have 2 Cuts on the edge instead of 1 on the old mags.
THAT"S GOOD for guys that are RIGHT handed. They can keep their old mags...... and you can probably cut your own slot on the other side so it will catch....
So far, I believe all the modification of the Gen 3 glocks will fit, other than the following
- Mag release
- Guide-Rods
I will try to take some pictures for you guys tonight....
