I'm not a Glock guy yet but I'm looking to get in with the gen 5. I've seen gen 4 with "sniper grey", "olive drab green", or even "flat dark earth" frames available at stores in Canada, but so far it looks like gen 5 is only available in black.

Is it possible to order in different colors, how does that whole thing work with Glock? I know I can just get it coated or painted but that's not what I'm looking for.

Thanks!

seems to me like glock changing the mag requirement for their new guns is like Apple/Samsung changing the adaptors for their charges,,, excuse to sell more accessories.

I own a G17 gen 5
Compatible with all previous gen mags

The 19X is a gen 5 and got it’s own mags
Compatible with all previous gen G17 mags

They are backward compatible

Simply the new gen 5 19X, is not compatible with the new G17 gen 5 mags, because of mag baseplates and how the front strap on the grips go lower.

I don't think they've come out with coloured frames yet for the Gen 5's. I'm sure they will release them when sales level out to spark interest again.

They also require some significantly high order numbers to produce a gun in a different frame color - generally it is their largest distributors i.e. Lipseys who are willing to purchase large enough quantities to make a different color... the 19x being the first real off the shelf gun available in a dif. color. direct from Glock at the consumer level.

If you want a coloured frame get a gen 4 or the new g19x. Probably eventually they will make more colours for gen 5 but no one knows when.
