Glock gen3 upper on a gen4 frame?

Would G17 gen3 upper work on a G22 gen4 frame? I know there would be a gap at the muzzle but otherwise any issues?

The recoil spring are different in diameter between gen3 and gen4, I don't think you can do that.

I'd be using complete gen3 upper (with old school RSA).

I tried a gen3 slide on a gen 4 frame. I thought it was going to be stuck on for ever. Couldn even move the slide. Some how I got it off...

I'll never do that again...

Well I just shot 50 rounds thru my gen4 G22 with G17C upper with no problems at all!

This was a first time shooting a compensated Glock and I have to say the V shape fireball is quite entertaining and the comp makes it pretty soft shooting. Also ran a Wolf 40-9mm barrel in my G22 slide and it seemed to have a little more recoil.
