Glock, good for a first pistol?

For those of you who still belief in a gun "fitting your hand" here is you tube video of an 11 year old girl who took a fighting pistol class with her dad at Tactical Response.

The same girl field stripping an AR 15 and putting back together with function check in less than 60 seconds.

This one has nothing to do with this thread but is still really awesome.

the link does not work.
God job being civil an respectful in your last couple of post.
You keep bringing up defensive shooting.
during a lecture Two well known instructors talk about how family members carry
guns other that 1911 because they are more user friendly and they can shoot these guns better despite the fact that they are capable with1911.
the idiot instructors are Mas Ayoob and Chuck Taylor.
You can also go to chuck Taylor's web sight and you will see how many times he
covers usability and pointability and ergonomics and what a hi level of importance he
puts on it.
Col Jeff Cooper also stated on several occasion stated that his wife despite being very
capable with 1911 45 she preffered a 38 snub.

In1991 I was on a firearms course .after two session a 5'4 110lb female
could not shoot well enough to qualify with her super duper wonder nine.
The instructor suggested she try a smaller single stack. She borrowed a H&K p7
and she qualified in the top 5.
The course was an Executive security weapons course and the idiot instructor was
John Farnam.
On another course during as lunch break talk turned to guns as always. The instructor
stated he liked the Sig, but that doesnt mean its for everyone. His way wasnt the only way. This was also what the school stressed.
the instructor was Ross S. the head instructor @ M.I.S.S.
Our own Kevin B had the grip on his wife's CCW Glock 19 reworked. This was after he
Kevin handle Chris Costa's gun that was similarly reworked.
You can believe what you want and listen to whom ever you chose but don't go around
calling people idiots.
In my opinion the people I used as references trump James and TR.
Now all this talk
I'm going to take my 12 yearr old son to the range and make him shoot the DEagle
from combat positions until he cant miss.

i never said you should be carrying a 1911 perhaps you need to go back and do some reading. I have had many conversationsw with Chuck taylor, and I am not sure what ergonomics, pointability, or usability has anything to do with how a "gun fits your hand". You know I am not sure what any of your post is about it sure isn't if your little hands can wrap around a Glock and pull a trigger. Most of those people on your list have takin a class with TR and James. Or at the very least been in the same room with one another.
Also I never directed my "idiot" name calling at any particualr person. I am tired of going to gun shops trying new guns and some idiot says "Oh that gun fits your hand thats a good gun" and not 20 seconds later he's waving it at half the people in the store. Or looking down the barrel with his finger on the trigger.

Still haven't seen any evidence of anyone not being able to shoot a gun because the gun didn't fit there hand here.

Rotek,

The point I think you're trying to make is that "fit" can and does improve ones performance. However, this improvement is only evident in novice shooters or those who don't know any better. The "fit" is an excuse for poor fundamentals.
