Glock Grip Force Adapter

I never really understood slide bite....I grip my glock incredibly high, with my thumbs resting nearly along the top edge of the slide.

Never once had slide bite.

I don't think that would bother any of the Glock guys I know...most of the Glock people I know shoot both Glocks and 1911s.

Damn, I missed putting the sarcasm smiley on that last post. I was just pulling TDC's leg because he has stated that every polymer pistol is simply a knock off of the Glock.

I think it depends on your hands and how fleshy they are. I have seen guys get bite from a grip that I can use all day. I have small, fairly skinny hands though and the guys who suffer seem to have much meatier hands than I do.

At Shot Show 2012 one of the guys from Glock did mention that they are coming out with a type of beavertail rear grip which would be very similar to this sometime in 2012. He did say they have tried it on the Gen 4 but are going to make them available to all of the Glocks on the market today. (seen a video)

It may be an idea brought on by the 1911 sure but it looks like an idea that works. And if it works people will buy it, for instance I have read numerous amounts of stories of people having trigger work to improve the 1911 even better.

Depends on your hands I guess...I am not overweight at all but my hands are very big. I have a permanent glock scar, not that I care. If I grip a glock moderately high, I'm losing skin. If I get a really good high grip, I can end up with fairly noticeable bleeding. Doesn't concern me, but isn't ideal.

Well if the pistol was introduced after the Glock and has identical features, its a copy.

I've shot with a guy who (literally!) lubricates the slide on his Glock with blood from the slide bite... If you've shot IDPA in Alberta you know S.S.

He's got very large hands and the flesh on the web between his thumb and index finger seems to flow over the stock tail on the Glock. I think he'd love one of these.

I've experienced Glock slide-bite myself, but I find it (for me, not speaking for anyone else here) is a function of white-knuckling the strong hand grip. If I back off on the grip a bit, the flesh on the web of my hand doesn't flow upward into the path of the slide.

And yes, I do grip the pistol as high as possible relative to the axis of the bore.

Interesting piece. Do they ship to Canada? Or any retailers that do (Brownells or Canadian dealers) carry them? Something I think would be worth trying out

Grip Force is now registered with DDTC, so a registered exporter can legally export the GFA. AFAIK, Grip Force has not yet identified a Canadian distributor.

The Glock Store will export the GFA here.

I just got a response from Grip Force. They will ship to Canada, but you have to call them to place your order, as their web site does not include shipping to Canada. I'll be calling in my order on Monday.

I got two to try from a distributor in the states a couple years back one for the gen4 and one for the gen3 as I was considering opening up a business and these were one of the products I was going to sell. They come with longer pins that replace the back most pin in the receiver.
Overall I get the idea, the product is floppy/weak but it kind of has to be in order to get a good fit around the multiple glock frames each one claims to magically fit. As contrary to glocks generic information there is differences in over all widths etc between models, even of the same calibre.
My issue was that it kind of defeats the purpose of the slim frame when you fill the gap up with a fake beaver tail, my hands fit a size large glove, but I find most glock frames cumbersome, so on the g22 gen 3 it made it even harder to hit the mag release button. It was ok on the g22 gen 4, but took away all the advantage of the fact that I didn't use a backstrap on the gen 4. Like a couple of the other posters stated, I've never had a slide hit the web of my hand and I suspect this is only something that happens with bear paws and Andre the Giant Hands.
Granted the two I have are early release ones, they came in full packaging and were supposed to be of good enough quality to convince me to buy hundreds of them, so it should be noted that there is little plastic around where the wider extension pin fits thru the frame, after a box or so thru the gen 4 the strap holes stretched, not enough that it fell off, but enough that it didnt fit tight and could get cought on something. Also adding this to a production gun would kick you out of production class, so the venture seemed kind of weak even if they were dirt cheap. I even pondered putting them on the EE, but didnt want the hassle for the $10.
I guess if you've got $12 to spend; sure, go ahead and try them, but I think they're cheesie, the smart money is on a nice precut grip tape kit. Really, if the glock is biting your hand buy an M&P or 1911 and get over it.
