Glock Guide Rod

Does anyone know where I can get a tungsten guide rod and weighted slug for my glock gen 4 19.

Why do people use Tungsten? I just bought a guide rod and spring kit and mine will be SS, what is the benefit of tungsten over SS?

ZEV the company I ordered from also make a tungsten but they sold me the SS

From what I understand tungsten weight a bit more than SS. Marginally reduced recoil lol.

Plus tungsten sounds cooler than ss. Chick's dig fancy words like tungsten lol.

Didn't know 9mm needs to have the recoil managed.
IMO money would be better spent buying ammo.

I see but cant you get the same reduced recoil by changing the spring weight? Mine will come with 2 different spring weights, one says its for lighter loads and one for heavier loads

Either way the tungsten isnt listed on their site, but in the description for the SS it says its based on their popular tungsten rod so I guess they do make both...Not sure if you like ZEV but you could try them, they can export up to $500 value direct to end user. My first order took maybe 7-10 days via usps/canadapost

Only thing I will be putting on my fde is trijicon HD night sights.

I hope that they dig the price too, around $55 USD. Plus you will need the Gen 4 adapter ring and spring. I've never seen a Gen 4 aftermarket tungsten recoil rod assembly yet.

All the guide rod kits ive seen for the gen4 are actually gen3 with adapter to be used in gen4. I guess the aftermarket don't like the double spring design on the gen4

Expensive yes, but I make stuff out of Tungsten carbide all the time. Tungsten on its own would be way too brittle. I'm making a carbide guide rod right now for my Girsan. No reason other than I can.

Depends what you want.

Factory threaded 19s flooded the market few weeks back. You can find them at wolverine, sfrc, wanstalls etc.

For black gen 4 19. Questar and irunguns.

For fde gen 4 19 dlask.

Most non factory barrels are Lone Wolf.

Thanks I have looked around but was asking more about your personal experience of where you bought yours. I have never bought a gun online yet and Im undecided where to buy from, Im also in the GTA area.
