Glock hater

humm I've had two of them in the past never had an issue. My friends have them. I will get another one day. www.glocktalk.com is a good site to talk about them. I heard of a few that have broke. But thats life it could happen to any gun. Just think how many are in service around the world. Yes its going to have its limitations.

i have had 2 I had the 1st model 17 back when they came with 19 rnd mags... I put ALOT of ammo thru it thousands of rnds infact I rarely cleaned it NEVER shot lead and never had any jams and missfires were only due to ammo defects (duds)

the one i have now is a second gen and ive had it for about 2 years bought it used ive put approx 4k thru it no problems

Everyone who praises GLOCKS a little too much, too often, should be sentenced to read every word on that site. Its been around a while and has some hard to argue with data.
Myself I am not (currently)a Glock hater (I'll admit I once was), but I do HATE it when people rant on about Glock PERFECTION. No firearm is perfect. And Glocks are far from perfect. And they do fire outta battery. And they do KFB. Yet strangely enough I still want one....:)

Have your second thoughts, then go with what the Glock guys say, they are durable and dependable.... and the times I've fired em I liked em.

Just don't drink the frikken KoolAid.:p

If you are planning to reload, Glock wouldn't be my first choice. Unsupported chambers and weakened brass don't go hand in hand.

Glock produces a very good service pistol and has millions of satisfied customers to prove it. Looking past all the Glock hype (marketing) there is no doubt that Glock pistols are reliable, durable, simplistic by design and accurate. Glock stands behind their product with proper parts supply and service.

There's fanatics on both sides of the fence. The Glock is a solid firearm, it's basically all down to personal preference and feel. Don't let other people railroad you into their chosen gun, get out there and hold a bunch, figure out what fits you best.

Personally I love the Glock, just wish we could get the 19s with standard barrels. That said, I also love the Sig line, and 1911s. They just don't seem to feel as comfortable in my hand...

Thought the 40 cal Glock was the only one that had an unsupported chamber.....

9mm brass from a Glock warped as well. I believe the 40 is the worst from what people tell me.

I've shot just about every handgun out there. Man trips to the USA renting guns. I have found glocks to be by far the easiest gun to shoot. For rapid fire stuff, glocks are fast. Faster than a SIG. Even thought I find the SIG's more accurate. its all about the trigger feel. But to answer your question, nothing wrong with a GLOCK. Pretty good gun actually.

I've owned Glocks since 1990 and while, in recent years, I have found pistols with better ergonomics (at least for my hands), I will say that Glocks are solid pistols that do shoot relaibly. There is a reason why there are so many of them out there. And, of course, when there are millions of anything out in the world, you are bound to find a few that have problems.

If you don't like them, then don't buy one. Buy what you like. No one can force anyone to buy a Glock.... I don't understand why some people waste so much time and energy putting down something they don't even own. Time better spent out on the range shooting whatever gun they do like....

As mentioned, Glocks are good service guns, certainly not as pretty as say a Beretta or a Sig. I get raked over the coals once in a while as I don't believe in all the Glock hype. Any device will have the ability to fail even the Glock.
For the money I'd get a good used Sig, just my 2 cents.

Glocks are a tool just like a hammer. They are designed to do a job. They are a dumbed down gun. Designed so almost anyone can use it. They are not designed for your pleasure.

And some day I will actually shoot one in order to back up my expert opinion.

I recently purchased one (a G17).
Why?
First I talked to a few people who have actually owned and shot them for years (between 40k and 100k rounds/gun). I don't buy "hearsay".
I then fired one to see if I liked it. It's no bloody good if I don't like it!
Reloads? These guys shoot thousands of rounds a year - they ain't buying factory ammo!
Lead? Don't load high pressure loads and you should be good.
Millions have been sold, and not all because it was a cheap alternative.
It is a dead simple firearm. Simple = easy to maintain = less parts to break. Simple.
I've now put 200 rounds of factory and handloads (yes, lead) though mine. One swab down the barrel, a couple of wipes and a few drops of oil. Done.
And yes, price was a factor, but by far not the only one.

I own a G17, 19,20, 23, 27, and 30. After reading my posts on this forum, let's see a show of hands of people that think I would buy more than one Glock if they were junk. Glocks are great pistols that go bang everytime. I prefer Glocks to H&Ks or Berettas as the Glock is less complex. Lastly, any firearm manufacturer that produces as many handguns, as Glock, will have a few returns. Regards, Richard:D

I was seriously considering buying a glock. I'll admit after reading this I am having second thoughts. I'm curious to hear what others have to say about this.

There are arguments on both side of the story.. ;)

Many here will have already seen this stuff, it's nothing new to GLock owners and haters alike....

Read this thread. It takes it a bit far, but it outlines some of the better aspects of Glock reliability. Most semi auto pistols won't take this kind of abuse and still function..

My personal opinion after shooting (but not owning) is that I am going to get one as my next purchase.
