I see Epps has some pretty good prices on Glock pistols, I dont know much about them, and Id like to get a new 9mm pistol. Anyone have any input, good/bad are they fussy with reloads.

I finally got over my polymerphobia recently. Glocks are great guns. I have had NO failures of any kind.
The rifling is polygonal and whatever that means it is recommended you don't use lead bullets as they apparently clog the rifling and can go kaboom.
There are few on this board that have shot lead and have had no such disasters, but better safe than sorry.

Glocks are great. A little on the boring side, nothing fancy or flashy about them. You could shoot one as a full time job and probably never wear it out.

I had one for a few years and never cleaned it. Sold it to another guy who never cleans it. He shoots IPSC with it and has never had a problem.

This weekend I tried a Tupperware pistol, a G22, I was impressed. Now I have to go out and buy one. Check the pricing from one of our sponsoring dealers first.

I like my G17. Dead easy to field strip and give it a quick clean. Way more accurate than I am. I've got about 1500 through it now without a problem, other that operator error. I find its real easy to get my offhand thumb on the slide lock, thereby I get FTF's once in awhile. I do wish I had of gone with the night sights though. All in all, a dead easy pistol to operate.

I got a G22 for Xmas, and I am very impressed. Simple, accurate, reliable. What more could you ask? You can get a standard Glock for under 600$ now. Hard to beat!

The G17 (9mm) is a good reliable pistol with any ammo (that I have out through it). I have one that hasn't been cleaned in about 2000 rnds and it still goes bang every time I pull the trigger. Its a pretty light gun and so is a little snappier than my 9mm P226, but its not unmanagable. You can also buy a nice .22 lr conversion kit and shoot for next to nothing. Oh and spend a little extra and get the night sites. All in all its a great gun to have.

The nice thing about a Glock is that you never worry about it. They just run all the time, never need cleaning and its hard to hurt them. Perfect police gun!

+1

Love my 1911's but I've been steadily shooting the same Glock 22 .40 cal since 1995. Thousands of rounds later without one hic-cup [or a kaboom] it's still going strong.
