Glock Kaboom vid

It happened in the Philippines. The guy was speechless and was being asked what happened, but not able to say anything.... must be in shock!!
Damn hand was all black from the residue of the gun powder.

I know a lot of shooters who reload in the Philippines, they use lead bullet heads because its cheaper.
Not a good idea on Glocks. Just my 2-cents.

Always scary, hope it never happens to anyone in my familly.

If I ever see my barrel peel back like a banana, it's gonna be a tough next couple of seconds while I check to see if I still have my hand.:runaway:

I only hope that if that ever happens to me to have the presence of mind not to throw my pistol. (If i could still hang on to it  )

Millions & millions of Glocks sold.

Maybe you prefer 1911's?

Can you find a pic of a blown up ruger?
Do they get uglier after they're blown up?

:D

The only thing I could find in my exhaustive 2 minute search was a Ruger PC4 carbine and it was the result of a squib:

This one happened right beside me at the RA range in Ottawa a few years back. Using jacketed commercial reloads by a well-known local reloader.

Gun was a Glock 34. He since sold it, but later went and bought a 35. And Ron is the reason I bought a Glock, after he let me shoot his 34... :dancingbanana:

The shooter is a member on this board, BTW, but mostly sticks around the EE as I see he constantly buys and sells guns.

Notice the powder burns/residue inbetween his fingers. Yeah, he said "it smarted". The mag blew out the bottom of the gun but otherwise, no apparent damage.

And no, he didn't throw the gun down.

I had a .22 hangfire in my Buckmark about 6 years ago. Obviously factory ammo, and it took almost 90 seconds for it to go off. I was showing the GF the right way to wait (pistol pointed safe direction etc), for a minute, but took longer as I was explaining it to her. When I went to extract the round, it went off just as the slide opened. Not from the ejector hitting it or anything. The round, and other fired rounds, were sent back to Federal, along with the rest of the lot of ammo, and it was found to be defective. I got $200 or something plus 10,000 rounds of free ammo from them for that.
So .22's aren't any safer.

This happens with all makes. I have personaly seen a .50 Barrett explode at a range in Flordia. The shooter was on the third round, pulled the trigger and kaboom. He had 2 rounds left in the mag, one went off, the mag blew to bits and the reciever was history as was the bore of the barrel. Speaking with my friend a few months later, he told me that even though this was the result of the guys reloads, Ronnie Barrett took the rifle back, and replaced it.
