Hi folks
I picked up a couple of KCI mags for my Glock 22, a 29 rnd pinned and a 15 rnd pinned thinking the feeding would be a bit more uniform, well it is not, in fact the mags jam like crazy, after firing a shot the slide stays open and so on. My OEM mags do none of that so that leads me to believe it is the magazines and it does it regardless of if it is 1st, second or 8th round for that matter. When I had this problem in the past with my XDm, extra power ( + 10%) springs from Wolff made the problem go away. So, my first instinct would be to get extra power springs and see. Or, are those mags simply sh..t and should I just write them off and next time spend a few more extra bucks for OEM 10 rounds ?
Thanks for any info

That's odd, I have several KCI mags and they run just fine. A loaded magazine is incapable of activating the slide lock lever which leads me to believe it is you who s inadvertently riding the slide lock when firing. Try shooting one handed, and try it with both hands. If the phenomenon continues then I would suspect your slide lock lever spring is worn or broke.

where did you buy the KCI mags for a Glock 22? i'm looking to pick up a handful for mine, the 15rd-pinned ones.

I did a little lime work on mines and they are 100% reliable since. They are poorly molded with a lot of extra plastic. Overall I very happy with them.

I bought 5 26 round pinned to 10 for glock 21 and every one of them will not feed after the second or third round (no spring pressure). Took them apart and the springs look alright, maybe not enough spring tension? Pretty disappointed.

Are you sure your glock was reassembled properly .. Sounds to me like the slide stop spring ended up on the wrong side of the block pin

This is one reason why I stick with Glock factory mags.

Nope, everything is assembled correctly. Maybe the follower is binding?

Could be, but for it to jam every round or keep the slide opened there would have to be a serious defect in the mag.

When the slide holds open does the stop engage or does it catch on the rim of the next round

ive used a lot of KCI mags, all worked fine. as mentioned there is extra plastic flashing that needs to be trimmed but its not a big deal.. 5 min with a sharp knife and yer good to go.

check your glock guiderod, some were recalled with certain s/n on them..dont know if the glock 22 was affected or not i think it was just the 17 gen 4.

I believe I read somewhere that the KCI mags sometimes have plastic flashing inside the mag tubes where the witness holes are that impede the movement of the follower and/or spring. I don't have any pinned G21 mags but the pinned G17 ones I have worked fine. The only thing I found with them was that the undersides of the feed lips were a little rough and scratched the brass. I smoothed them with some fine emery cloth and they were fine after that.
