
I see the problem. You need to push the tool FURTHER INTO THE MAG, tipping the inner (locking) floorplate completely out of the way. If you're doing it properly, you should be able to push the entire steel rod on the armourer's tool all the way into the mag, then pop the floorplate off.

The only way I can fit a tool farther into the mag would be to hammer it through the inner floorplate. It will not tip out of the way due to it's size and the ribs on the inside of the way. Tried that too.

I was doing it exactly like that. It does not come off that easy on this mag. The way the locking tabs on the mag side are designed, it will never come off that easy.
