Gen 4 Glock 21 sometimes mags fall out when fired. Doesn’t happen with every magazine fired. Same magazines in Gen 3 are fine. This is a new development on a high round count gun.

Is there some magazine catch adjustment that can be done or should I replace the mag catch assembly ?

Thanks

Also if the mags that are having issues are old, check out the top of the mag catch hole on the mags. The polymer mag covering on the mags will wear over time, mags are a wear item.

At first I thought the release was being depressed while shooting but it's happened with 4 different people. And it has had about 15K rounds through it without dropping the mags out so it's a new issue. Some mags are brand new, some old. And the Gen 3 G21 doesn't drop the same mags that the Gen 4 does. All this leads me to suspect the firearm rather than the magazines or pushing the button. :)

I think I will try to track down a whole new assembly. :)

Either Your mag catch is worn out (most likely on high round count gun), the spring needs replacing (if seen it....but it's less common), or the 'slot' in the mags are worn (but you mentioned new mags do this too).

Change the mag catch, its the cheapest thing to try. You may as well change the spring too since shipping will probably cost more than the mag catch lol

If you are using plastic mags, DO NOT use a steel mag catch. The mags will wear out really fast.

DO NOT use steel mags with the plastic mag catch. The mag catch will wear out really fast.

If its happening on multiple mags, then chances are is the catch. Easy enough part to replace. Its a Gen4 so you could swap it to LH and see if the problem persist while waiting for a new catch in the mail.
