Just starting to put the elbow grease into a new G17 from Police Ordnance. I have an overall idea what I want to do with it internally and externally, but hit a hitch.

I want to make the Magazines a little longer, or increase their size so I can manipulate them easier. I am sure there must be some IPSC or IDPA modification for race guns I am not aware of, but I cant think of anything. I was looking at Magpul's magazine floorplates, but I dont really want to adjust my theory on how I use my magazines. NOTE: I am not looking to increase magazine capacity! Just the overall size of the magazine.

Any help would be appreciated.

"...some IPSC or IDPA modification..." The pistols are made to send the mag out with spring pressure. Not by pulling them out by hand. The mags usually have an add-on rubber/plastic 'bumper' on the bottom to protect 'em when they hit the floor. They're either screwed on or just glued. Some guys buy 'em. Some make 'em(it's not difficult).
If you want to buy something, have a look at this.

exactly what I was looking for, thanks

TSE also carries the polymer magwells for the Glocks. Nice low profile magwell and plug, fits right on the grip with no mod at all and helps in the quick mag change. Only thing is it doesnt work on the Gen4's because of the backstrap. I see they are out at present but they are due within 7-10days. Only $27.95 for the G17/22 and a bit more for the G20/21.
