Two of the three mags that came with my Glock 17 seem to like the number 11, anyone else get this?

They've barely been broken in so I can only imagine them getting looser. As of now they have a hard time feeding if I don't rack the slide so it's a moot point.

Uplula- your thumbs are worth it.

As for the OP, mine are a very tight ten round fit. Unless you have pinned mags, count yourself lucky.

They are OEM Glock Gen 4 10 Round mags NOT KCI or true 17 rounders pinned to 10.

Like I said, at the end of the day, if I load one in the pipe and have my magical number 11 mags it won't feed so the capacity isn't going up vs normal mag + 1 in the pipe.

I see it as more of a feature for now since I can still hand load them quite easily to 10 but seeing as they came like this I'd rather not see them get any looser and maybe start liking number 12, that would be a bad thing come range fudds and their surprise shakedowns.

Anyway as a first time Glock owner, I am amazed by the simplicity and no bull#### features of a Glock. I've been shooting surplus, steel core/steel case and US stuff. Out of the three trips I've made to the range so far I've dumped 1000rds through it each time. I don't have a cleaning kit other then the brush rod that came with it and some old shotgun oil I've had for years.

What I'm getting at is I haven't really cleaned the gun yet. I field striped it and literally poured oil over everything that seemed important and put the gun back together. Seems to work fine other then oil leaking out of the trigger.

I'm not the type to over worry about my guns, they are meant to be used and abused. This isn't no fancy blued 1911. With that being said, anybody recommend a decent cleaning schedule to insure function? Anything I should do/get? Anything in particular I should wipe down/oil/air can spray?

I find that you don't need much oil and I clean it only when I feel like tinkering with it. I put a drop on each frame rail and then cycle the action a few times. Never had a problem yet.

If you are putting that much oil on a Glock you are over lubing the gun. Glocks only need something like 5 or 6 small drops of oil in total and that is only once in a while. Do not wipe the copper or brass looking grease off the back of the slide. It is a specific grease and typically does not need to be serviced regularly. Glocks will run just fine dirty, I even run cast reloads in mine without any issues.

If you haven't already...you should break down the slide and remove/clean the firing pin, extractor, etc. Should be a fair amount of fouling and maybe even some filings left from the factory.
You do not need to pour oil over everything. A few strategic drops and wiping the barrel with a thin layer of oil is enough!
Read your manual.....

um, you realize your advertising on a public forum that your in possession of prohibited devices right? It doesn't matter that they came from the manufacturer...if you can stuff in 11, even if they don't feed right, you may want to return them post haste.

What prohibited device? My magazines like the number 11? The eff does that mean. Exactly.

In this context as you've worded it? what ever...........

Your point?

If you wanna get real technical, it doesn't matter because it isn't feeding, just as super gluing an 11th round on your magazine wouldn't make it prohib.

super gluing onto the outside won't, but if it will take 11 in the body, weather or not it functions in your pistol, the device itself is prohib. Since i have had friends charged and convicted on this very scenario......I agree it's stupid, but well, so are the cap limit laws and the whole 12-6 fiasco....

The Glock factory 10rd mag was specifically designed to hold 10 rds.....it can't be modified, so even if 11 can be squeezed in, it's still perfectly legal. I've been down this road before....even if you run a G22 mag in your G17 and manage to stuff 12 rds of 9mm in it,....if it feeds, you're still within the law.

different situation, a 40 mag with 9mm in it is legal, a 9mm mag with more the 10 9 mm in it is not, whether you modified it, it's a production error, or something broke. You may be able to win in court if you prove something broke, but it will cost you.
