Maybe I've been asleep at the wheel but lately I've noticed a trend in the EE of Glock uppers & lowers being parted out. More so than ever. Used to be a phenomena more associated to the venerable 1911/1911A1's and their associated parts.

What say you Glock aficionados? What's up with all the Glocks becoming orphans?

I recall Glock parts like uppers and lowers being sold in great numbers during the poly80 glock frame days, but I’ve often wondered myself why some folks are selling stripped G19X frames today. Not that I care, just curious why someone would keep all the parts to a G19X but ditch the frame.

i bought one of the EE a few years ago.
it wasn't disclosed but the barrel, frame & slide all had different serial numbers.
kinda tweaked me for a while but got over it.
guess that explained the great price lol.

Parting out....

I see guys parting out Rem 870 shotguns on the EE as well but that has been going on for a long time.

Guess one has to ask now on a Glock purchase .... "do the component parts with serial numbers on them match"....

There was a gunsmith from Quebec who did the same with Ruger MKII pistols, selling and transferring the (registered) barreled actions but retaining the (unregistered) grip frame, bolt, magazine, and other parts.

It turned out that he was making illegal, suppressed, .22LR 'ghost guns' for some Canadian-resident Mafioso.

We only learned about it because, in the end, the police caught him.
