How important are these sights on a glock?

I noticed there is a significant price increase for them and the primary benefit from what I understand is increase visibility in low light (for defensive purposes).

I don't plan on using this pistol for low light defensive purposes, so will I really benefit from them?

Any recommendations you have for sights (regular, adjustable, trijicon, glock night) would be appreciated.

Thanks

From what I hear, its only a matter of time before I am replacing the plastic sights anyways, they almost invariably break at some point in time

The plastic sights are serviceable but not great. you can get the Glock style of sights in steel. Tritium night sights will not aid you in daylight shooting activities. If you decide to shoot IPSC or IDPA there is potential for a low light/no light course of fire where they would help. Is the additional cost for the slim chance you might need them worth it? I'ds say no. Personally, all my guns have tritium sights for the off chance I'll need them in poor light conditions on the range or off.

Tru-Glo TFO's. Awesome sights. 'Nuff said.
