Glock or Sig P320

I didn't intend to start another argument about the merits/disadvantages of G22 or 40 S&W; that's not the point of this thread. I'm a satisfied G17 Gen4 owner and fail to understand why any civilian like me would ever choose a G22 or anything 40 S&W if we're just killing paper. But I respect there are those out there that just have to have whatever they use in their day job, or like to pretend to be LEOs.

Back to the thread - I like the Sig P320, but I still think its too new and want to wait a while for the distribution to get a bit better and the aftermarket to catch up a bit before committing to buying one. I think if Sig makes a 22cal Xchange kit for it, that would definitely interest me as well since I shoot at least 3 times more rounds through my Advantage Arms Glock kit than the actual 9mm slide.

No, a good salesman pushes the product that is most likely to result in long term satisfaction while being willing to provide an alternate to the customer who insists on something else for whatever reason. If Glock representatives are saying that their .40s are just as durable as their 9mms, that is such a blatant lie that they may as well be wearing Herb Tarlek jackets.

In fact I can't speak about the light weapon issue as I never experienced any problems with mine, but I do recognize the fact that other did in the past. So we all saw Gen4 model 17 struggle with reliability and ejection in the past. However all these issues are blown out of proportions, especially in the reality that we are facing in Canada. If all our pistols are still running just fine at such a high mileage there is a valid question to be asked: how much rounds are you planning to fire out of $700 gun? You will probably need to spend between $40k and $50k worth of ammo to wear it out. If that's an issue for you...well, I'm jelous.

I have decided to go Glock because I've always wanted one and since I opted for an XD-M last go around I figured I'd still end up wanting one.

As for the 320, I think seat time is required for the pistol. Plenty of reviews and torture tests out to get an idea about quality but I think it's just too new for me.

Haven't tried a P320 but P220, 239, 226, SP2022 have all been fantastic. I like the Sig bore axis better than Glock's. It's an individual thing, buy what you like. I've never had a stoppage in any Sig since I bought my first one, in 2010. In my experience, they've been 100% reliable right out of the box.

Knowing I don't like Glocks, I'd try the P320. To be honest, I prefer HK P30 and USP's in polymer pistols. My cheap Sig SP2022 has been a surprise for sure. I'm partial to the DA/SA setup as well.
