There was a Glock 17 for sale in the EE earlier this week that had Austrian proof marks on the frame and slide. I thought all North American Glocks were made in the USA.

Does anyone know what Glock models are available for sale in North America with Austrian proof marks? Is the G21 available with Austrian proofmarks?

My 3rd gen G17 have Austrian proof mark on the frame, slide and barrel. The frame reads: Made in Austria, GLOCK Ges.m.b.H. Also, It came with 3 factory 10 rounds mags and no cable lock (i prefer extra mag anyway:)) Got it from sporteque.

Mine was made in Austria, but I have seen some made in the State. I don't think there are much different. The one that I have has the worst trigger than any other Glock that I have tried.

All Glock pistols have the "Austria" mark on the left side of the slide, but only thoses build in Austria have these marks.

Here's the other side of mine. Totally different markings. Just took this pic from the other side.
I'm not real savvy when it comes to Glocks. Got a good deal on it new from a dealer here and still it sits unfired. LOL

What does the Pentagon symbol mean? I can't seem to find anything on it. I am not wading through 100+ pages of guys posting their serial number on GT to find out.

Polygonal rifling, all Glock pistols have that.

Standard vs polygonal rifling

find this on Glocktalk:

On current production Glocks, if frame says Glock Inc Smyrna Ga & below Made in Austria, they are made in Austria. Only full size frames that say Glock Inc Smyrna Ga are made in USA. ALL top halves of Glocks are made in Austria. On Glocks marked Made in Austria, they are shipped to USA not put together, nor with sights, they are put together here and test fired in GA. On Glocks marked Smyrna, GA only, the are put together with slides and barrels & sights in GA. Barrel, slide & frame are ser # to match and come from Austria.

But, in the canadian market we also found some frame marked Made in Austria, GLOCK Ges.m.b.H. with Austrian proof mark on the slide, barrel and frame. Thoses are made and assemble in Austria and is shipped here from there. As stated before, thoses come with 3 mags and no cable lock.

Hope this clarified a bit.
here is a closeup pic of mine.
