I just bought a Gen 4 Glock 20 (10mm)

I happen to have a Glock barrel in 40 S&W and a set of mags.

I am assuming I can switch barrels. Do I need a milder recoil spring assembly? Is the 10mm spring stiffer?

Pistol has not arrived yet.

OOps. Just did some reading. My Glock 40S&W barrel is 4.5" the Glock 20 is 4.6" My barrel may not fit the slide.

Will probably not fit in the chamber area either if it's from a Glock 22...

BTW, you can shoot 40sw right out of the 10mm barrel as is... Your spring should work as is - just throws... gently places the brass at your feet ;) Otherwise you will want to find a conversion barrel for the 20 from Lone Wolf or such if you want to have a 'proper' 40sw chamber in your barrel...

This gun has a RMR on it. I know I can shoot 40S&W as is. That is ok for plinking, but I assume a steady diet would gunge up the chamber (like shooting Shorts in a 22LR).

I can't see competing with a 10. I guess I could download to 40 velocities and hope to recover most of my brass.

A Lone Wolf conversion barrel would be best, but that would cost $200.

I have now noted that the 10mm is based on the 45ACP frame, not the 9mm/40 frame, so my 40 barrel probably won't fit.
