I just realised my new Glock 17 has a wonkey rear sight. It's the fixed sight, and it looks to have been placed in the dovetail with a wooden mallet.....it's in there, but as crooked as a liebral. It's leaning forward and to the left ( go figure.....).

I'm gathering I need a sight installation tool to replace the sight?

Where's a good place to snag one in Canada?

I'd upgrade to night sights but currently the budget doesn't allow that so I'm seeking to replace the fixed sights.

New plastic replacement sight is about $5, sight tool about $50-100 US, contact policeordnance.com Tel: (905) 479-2223, they are in Markham, Ontario
The second source is Ebay, all kinda a sights and parts for Glock (most of them won't ship parts to Canada, but will ship Glock tools with no problem)

just remember the sight tool will not work with any night sights that are not "like" the glock ones....

for example I know trijicons will work with the sight tool no problem, I doubt that heinies will.

There is a disclaimer on heinies that you shouldn't use the glock sight tool as it may bugger up your sight. I'll be checking out the trijicons and if nothing suits my fancy I'll just toss in more fixed sights.

I might use the punch and hammer trick to take out the buggered sight, not sure if I want to use it to place a new one in though...

Time to google up some reviews on sights.

just remember with glock sights, as your sighting down them they knock out to the passenger side of the gun.... and they install from the passenger side to be pushed in.

marketing ply... no.... a very strong no

sure using a punch and hammerworks but it does not always go as smoothly as some people would indicate.... using the sight tool takes the guess work out and also allows you to do sight adjustment that is trackable at the range and not just a hit it and guess fiasco.

i am a glock nut, have owned probably 100 different ones.... the $100 for the sight tool is peanuts.
