Glock Slides - Thoughts?

Hey guys, looking for some input - what are the thoughts around Glock slides? If you were in the slide market would you be looking for something raw that you could send away to guys like Blackbox Customs to get some nice work done on or looking for a Factory Glock slide to build your gun around?

Also what kind of prices would you expect? Asking because I am looking to build on a frame I just bought and figure the best input is gonna come from on this board.
 
so I recently was doing this exact search and what i figured out was a black box custom job plus a slide will cost more than a stripped zev slide, if you want to get into zev parts, custom barrels add $. reliablegun will order whatever you want but price depends on the dollar (last i checked $1100+ complete without a barrel), armtac has a couple zev stripped slides in country($800+/-). but the black box custom would be personal which has some novelty coolness too and irunguns has complete glock 22 slides in country(450 usd). its really whatever your final vision is.

edit theres also the unity tactical atoms from calgary shooting centre those are 700 stripped
 
I've gone both routes; IMO get a slide and send it in to get worked on so you can get exactly what you want. The zev stuff is nice, but reeeealy expensive. I had a chance to do it over again and went the custom option and it worked out to less than a zev build in the end.

this is where i ended up, I do love the zev hex slides though
 
Thanks so much for the feedback, I am looking now towards an Agency Arms finished slide, think I am going to buy a raw slide for about $350.00 and get it sent Stateside.

Sound reasonable on a raw slide purchase?
 
I'm planning on a black box custom on mine too. It's about 1k for lower work, milling and ceracote. I too am a big fan of what Zev makes but nothing will beat getting exactly what YOU want in a build. I also love the camo ceracote in unique colors like black box does.
