Glock slides

Hi all,
I have a technical question regarding Gen 3 Glocks.
I have a Gen 3 Glock 22 slide assembly. I am considering buying a Storm Lake barrel for the 40 to 9mm conversion.
This is my question: assuming the slide works to fire 9mm - will the G22 slide assembly, with the Storm Lake barel, fit and function on a Gen 3 Glock 17 frame?
This is assuming that the correct mags are used.
This is also discounting any liability issues, and warranty voiding.

You can use Glock .40 mags and shoot 9mm from them. For the range shooting targets, it should be fine.
