Glock Tolerances

Thanks for that TDC, it was not my intention to tick anyone off really, and after all that was said, I still have a suspicion that there may have been an issue with that particular rental gun I shot. The trigger was so bad on it, I have to think something was wrong with it.

I was really just trying to get the point across that I didn't care for it. Having said that, they have a proven record and are widely used, and I have read several times that with some very cheap (like 25 cents) aftermarket\home remedies, the trigger can be made to be quite good.

Someday, I would like try one again, one that is owned are cared for by a true gun nut and perhaps my opinion will change. That is the nice thing about opinions, you can change them whenever you like.

I fully agree, opinions do change over time and experiences.

I will say this, the so called 25 cent trigger job is also not necessary. Mastering the trigger on any pistol is absolutely critical to accurate shooting. Taking up the slack and working the reset is something many are ignorant of. This lack of knowledge is what leads many to the 1911. The very short and crisp triggers on a 1911 lend themselves well to poor trigger finger placement and control. In essence, they conceal poor form. Hence the reason many who shoot 1911's have poor performance with Glocks and DA/SA pistols like the SIG series.

Agreed.... I have owned several d/a only and da/sa pistols and revolvers and 1911s, and have always found the triggers repeatable and easy to "figure out". Maybe it was not enough time behind the G17 that is the cause of my issues, but after 50 rounds, I still wasn't liking the trigger, and I would say that was my main concern.
