This is too good not to respond.
Let me get this straight. Somehow the "feel" of a firearm dictates its overall quality? The fact you couldn't load the magazine means its a poor design? The fact its not hand fitted and has some play means the fit and finish is poor? Your ability to understand and operate a two stage trigger and/or work the reset is absent so the trigger is now an 8lb mess? The quint essential "point and pull" pistol is not user friendly? So where do the factual statements come in. I mean, all I see is an individuals PERSONAL experience based on PERSONAL feelings with zero factual evidence to support it.
I guess the many millions of Glocks sold and used by many different folks to include law enforcement, military, and competitive shooters alike, is the result of "cheap" prices and good marketing. It couldn't be Glock's reputation for utter reliability and simplicity in a user friendly no BS service pistol could it?
Rental gun or not, the performance is a direct result of the shooter not the gun or ammo. Its rather odd that no matter how many people post about their great or poor results with brand X there will always be others with the exact opposite experience. Through some basic science principles we can determine what the independent variable is.. The shooter. The controlled variable would be the pistol and the dependent variable would be ones performance. The dependent variable is a direct result of the independent variable, the shooter. I'm sure most of us understand this concept yet very few ever admit its their abilities that are lacking, not the equipment. Regardless of what one believes, the science doesn't lie. You don't understand the fundamentals of marksmanship to make the Glock run, hence your poor performance.
I'm curious to hear why you feel the gun is not user friendly? How hard is it, insert magazine, cycle the slide, depress trigger. Reload or re holster when finished.

Did you read my comments all the way through? You have it quoted there.... at the end.... I said I was stating
my opinion and that others may have a different opinion.
There is no
factual evidence of an opinion, that is why it is an opinion.
I have also stated that this was not my first rodeo, and have put a hell of a lot of lead down range, and of the couple dozen or more handguns I have used and owned, Glock is one I would never go back to,
based on my experience using it.
As to the
feel of the pistol, it felt like crap to me yes... If it feels like crap, loads like crap, shoots like crap and looks like crap.... I'll let you fill in the end of the sentence. Again, different people OBVIOUSLY feel differently, and that is why they make more than one brand of pistol.
The magazine spring was so stiff it was ridiculous, Again I have loaded more than a few 9mm mags and never needed a tool to do so. The range had no tool available and I finally settled on loading only 8 rounds per mag and even that was exceedingly difficult
compared to others I have used.
Yes those are subjective opinions again.... I would love to see your
hard evidence that the Glock is a wonder pistol, and beyond scrutiny.
It couldn't be Glock's reputation for utter reliability
Did you watch the Glock's 1000 round torture test? Everyone seemed so impressed. The part I like is at the end where the gun melted and the guide rod flew out of the pistol, making it a useless pile of junk afterwards.
The Ruger torture test (posted a few back in this thread) on the p-85 was 5000 rounds after having parts of the slide cut out to weaken it and try to make it fail, it didn't. That is a pass... unlike the Glock.
Sorry for my opinions here, I obviously hurt your feelings, It was not my intention to do so, but you seem to be suggesting that it is the best pistol ever made and everyone should own one regardless of what they think of it. And because I don't enjoy shooting the gun you enjoy shooting, I must not know how to shoot... I see ... very scientific.
**edit** I should add if you can shoot a Glock accurately and enjoy it,(which you seem to be able to) you are obviously a better shooter than I am.
