Hey guys, hical.ca has competition springs for 20$ and 3.5 connector for 29$. Do these things change the trigger dramatically? any expériences you can share with these mods?? or is it negligable change

The 3.5 connector will significantly change the trigger. I would suggest to start with polishing (25 cents trigger job) and 3.5 connector first. In most of the cases it will be more than enough. Competition trigger spring is only a minor change and I wouldn't suggest changing firing pin and safety springs with it (in some combinations trigger safety may not re-engage properly).

I can't speak for the one officer by hical, but I installed a Ghost 3.5 connector and after fitting it greatly improved my Glock 17. I did NOT change my springs as I've also heard problems can sometimes result.

The most important thing to shoot a Glock accurately is to master the trigger. Especially, the reset. There are video on Youtube that show the technique.

I did the whole zev trigger kit. It no longer is a glock trigger. It became a 1911 trigger. 2.5lb pull, only able to shoot AE ammo or custom reload.

The Lone Wolf 3.5 connector hical.ca has listed won't change the trigger all that much. Also, the 4 lb. striker spring offered in the "Wolff Glock Competition Pak Trigger Group" can lead to light strikes.

Aside from triggers by Vanek or Zev etc. the best combination in my opinion which will keep your Glock reliable is the OEM "-" connector and a 6 lb. trigger spring. I run all my Glocks this way and get a trigger that pulls around 5 lbs. You can experiment with Ghost connectors but I haven't found one that has blown me away.

What's your goal? If we know that we can suggest the appropriate modifications.

P.S. Check out Glock Talk and RockYourGlock.

Im pretty comfortable and get good grouping with the stock trigger, but I am looking for a light trigger pull and to try to eliminate that glock wall feeling in the trigger

If the "wall" is what you're trying to eliminate I'd look into the Ghost Evo Elite connector (minor fitting required and "armorers" slide cover plate recommended) + the 6 lb. trigger spring to help lighten the pull weight.

Have fun and good luck!

I have the double diamond 3.5 connector and a 'competition' spring in my glock.

It was a MASSIVE improvement from the NY 8lb trigger that came with it >_>

Overall extremely happy with the trigger and love my glock.

I put those exact parts from hical in my gen4 17. It made a huge difference!! I don't have a way to measure it but it's light!! Im guessing 3.5 lbs. I'm happy with it for the money. It says on spring kit "not for duty carry" if that's a concern. Wasn't for me.

The connector made some difference but the spring kit really lightened it up.

The spring kits definitely make a difference but they can also lead to failures (light strikes, failed trigger reset, failed safety engagement etc.). I'm not saying one should avoid them but it's probably going to be trial and error.

NY1 spring and OEM Glock (-)connector in my G17. It's inexpensive ($40?) and a D.I.Y.
The combo keeps the trigger pull @ the factory weight removing the mushy take up gives a clean break and crisper reset.
I'm not a fan of "hair triggers"….prob because I prefer shooting my DA revolvers in Double Action.

Honestly I was concerned about failures too. I've only had it to the range once since installing the parts. I was there to sight in a couple rifles and only put 100 rounds through it of S&B and AE. It ran fine but 100 rounds is hardly a test. So time will tell. Half the fun for me is tinkering around with guns. I mainly just wanted to try them out. Actually I have a ghost connector and NY 1 spring on the way to try out next. Lol.
