I am looking for some help.
Looking for advice from IPSC shooters that have modified their triggers to make the G17 trigger better while keeping it production legal.
I am getting confusing information as to what can be done and what should be done.
Factory parts only?

I understand the weight should stay the same, I am ok with that, what I want to do is make the trigger better while keeping its weight.
Maybe there is a way to shorten the take, smooth the take up and shorten the reset while maintaining all GLOCK OEM safeties and the weight at 5.5

2 years ago I went the SA/DA trigger and I lost my GLOCK magic, I need to make the trigger a little bit better, just a little bit.

Any tips? The trigger has been already polished and I noticed 0 improvement, at least nothing dramatic. It is all stock.

:)

Thanks

Want to stay in Production, keep it OEM parts. If your G17 trigger is more on the 6lb range, you could try a factory 4.5lb connector and you might be in the 5lb trigger weight range.

From what I've been seeing (new to IPSC), the number of shooters in the Production Division is always 2-3x more than Standard. At least in Ontario. Maybe I should try shooting Standard one of these days. :p

You might wanna check out this:

Just that and some polishing got mine down to low 5.xlb

Nope. Do not do that. the parts must be OEM Glock. Installing a Lone-Wolf connector in your gun regardless of it retaining the 5lb weight will be grounds to send you into open division you if caught.

Yup. That would put the OP in Standard and at that point, he might as well get the competition springs along with the 3.5 connector or go all Apex trigger etc.

lol - wonder how many of these Glock are OEM...
who is going to disassemble EACH pistol to see the internals... Never saw that before, anyway, I did check on mine today and to my surprise it has the (DOT) connector.
Always wondered why my GLOCK was so nice, all Gen4 have the DOT connector.
I recommended this, if you have an unmarked connector.

Unmarked connector = 6 lbs approx
Dot connector = 5 to 5.5
- connector = under 5 with a mushy trigger

The glock OEM minus connector and NY1 trigger spring make a great combo. It's not race gun trigger pull weight or anything, but the combo of the connector and spring give a much better trigger feel, and makes the reset much more profound and predictable for fast shooting.

Most CRO's and match directors can feel the difference between a 3lb trigger pull, and a 5.5lb trigger pull. No need to disassemble.
Just keep it stock with Glock parts and you'll be fine.
Glock has OEM mag releases, slide catch/releases and they have an OEM 4.5lb connector. I thought they had a 3.5# connector if your local Glock armourer ordered it.
But yeah, for small level 2 matches, it's not a big deal (I wouldn't suspect). For provincial and national matches, you'd be moved into another division like open or standard.

You would be moved to open always. If you don't meet your declared division you always move to open (minor/major capacity in classic is different because that is a PF ruling and not a division ruling)

Also it must be an OEM part from another production legal gun. I don't know glocks but if that 3.5# connector is only available in a 34 then you can't use it (as an example)

I remember reading there was a 3.5# connector for a G17 from Police Ordinance when they had the IOP contract. It specifically stated it needed a letter from your divisions armourer in order to purchase. I'm not 100% certain, as I don't have the paperwork any longer.

Gen 4 come with DOT connector.
I have used the 3.5 (for fun) and I did not like how it felt.

It is going stay stock, after all, I shot it for 3 years like that and was great, no reason to start changing things now other than getting the practice in and bring the GLOCK magic back.
