My used Glock 19 came with the New Yawk trigger ...
which was interesting.

Trigger pull with the NY "horseshoe" was more like a DA revolver, heavy initial pull, and heavier final pull.

I replaced the NY horseshow with a stock glock trigger spring, and got the stock pull .... light weight takeup, and 4 lbs approx final letoff.

Adding the 3.5 lb disconnector was much too soft for my taste.

Anybody have some opinions about what they prefer in a Glock trigger?

I had a 3.5 trigger, but couldn't tell the difference unless I was firing someones new 5.5 Glock. I put my 5.5 stock dis. back in. The New york triggers are crap. There's no doubt anyone who is "accidently" shot with a NY trigger was not accidently shot.

How do you know when it's got the NY trigger? I'm waiting for my new-used G19 as well.

Did you measure the trigger pull?

NY1 is olive...

My favourite is a stock connector (5#) with NY1 spring, but with a few coils removed to prevent the plastic from setting when compressed, but giving the least resistance possible; I like this setup the best and I've tried all of them.

Did you get yours from dlask? I just got mine from them - trigger doesn't feel like 12 pounds but it's defnately havier than my old BHP...please advise...

Yep,
got my G-19 from Dlask.

Aside from some holster wear on the slide, it is basically a new pistol. Still had some of the original copper slime on some of the bits [ plus a lot of pocket lint, donut crumbs, etc.] The Night sites are glowing nicely, and after a thorough cleaning, swapping in some trigger bits and a longer mag release, the unit is just about good to go to the range for sighting in with some 9 MM, and my spare 17/10 mags left over from my last Glock.

My 19 had a Wolf engraved on the bottom of the brand new replacement 4 1/4" barrel [ Lonewolf], which is good, but it did NOT have the Glock tupperware box or cleaning kit/etc, which is not so good. I mean .... reallllly ... how can it be "Combat Tupperware" without the tupperbox???

Coltfan,
thanks for the PIX ... when I got my 19 apart, I thought I'd somehow lost the trigger spring during disassembly [ damn those shag rugs ] so stuck in a spare spring from my 3.5 lb kit....
which obviously did NOT fit over top of the NY mechanism.
DUHHHH!

A quick google of "glock New York trigger" got me those pics you posted, which made everything self evident, and I pulled out the NY bits, and was good to go.

G37 ... thanks for the tip on clipping the NY spring. I liked the heavier takeup the NY setup gives, but it was TOO heavy. Maybe a bit of gunsmiting is in order again.

PS: I had about 1500 rds through my previous G-26, and regretfully decided the 26 squirmed just a bit too much in my hands. I've also had [ 4] previous 17s, which are very nice indeed, but I like the balance and size of the 19 even better. I'm hoping the 19 will be just right.

I prefer the stock trigger with it's 5 lb connector to the 3.5 lb one. Never shot anything with a NY1 or 2 trigger in it though.

I have the NY2 currently and it's nothing like a DA pull IMO. Slightly heavier takeup, then a clear point where it's going to break, and that is quite heavy. I've just been too lazy to swap it back out.

Well I just took mine apart and cleaned it saw the olive drab new york trigger:mad:, now i'll have to swap it out. Is this hard can anyone direct me to a good link on how to do this?

Lazerus I had the same copper coloured goop but the piece shows little wear. It had what looked to be chocolate in the light rail:rolleyes:(perhaps a cop had a hershey bar in his vest and it melted into his holster;)) and a bunch of crap in the mag well, around the bottom of the mag and in the empty hole in back of the grip....other than that it's in good shape. Has a wolf barrel and I appreciate that it was blackened. I'll post a pic soon....

Clob,
see the pictures posted previously ... do a search on google for Glock New York trigger. Swapping it out is trivial once you have the glock detail stripped. Should only take a minute or so. I played around with various combinations, using my 3.5 lb connector and spring until i got what felt best to me. that took longer than a few minutes, but it was worth it.

Soli, Brownells will have what you are looking for ... with detailed descriptions.
