I love the NY1, but instead of removing the spring, I chop one end off so that the OAL of the spring is 7.2mm (vernier calipers just hold it in place, barely).
At 7.2mm, the spring is unsprung when the trigger-bar is at the 'trigger forward' position. The spring only starts to offer resistance as soon as the trigger begins moving rearward.
I like this as I figure it will prevent the plastic leaf-spring from sagging (if it were to ever sag).
