ive been doing some reaserch about the grand power k100. ia ma in the prosses of purchasing a k100 and it looks like they are on par if not better than glock.
the k100 is rated to 110,000 rounds fired without repair or mechanical wear, shoots underwater like a glock, is polemer like a glock. but has a different barrel system and is a da/sa. the grand power also seems to sit better in the hand. an almost1911 feel with the beavertail and long grip.

its aslo totaly ambi!! lefty for life baby:dancingbanana:

could the grand power be on par or better then a glock?

I say, IMHO that the K100 is superior to the Glock. This is in regards to lack of recoil, trigger pull, sights, ergonomics, magazine design, control layout, accuracy. I would rate them on par for reliability, never having a jam in the K100 nor having one in the G22.

It's probably fair to say the K100 is superior... but Glock has Brand-Name and Look Cool Factor (and accessories galore) :D

I have a Glock 17 and all I can say it is a VERY good gun, so as the others that I own. Nothing special, just a shooting iron. On the other hand K100 is certainly a very well designed gun. if STI put their name on those product, they won't be bad.

I've owned two Glocks. I've tried to love them. It hasn't worked out. I've never found a way to love the grip feel or the trigger pull.

I now own a K100. It's trigger is excellent in DA or SA. The grip feels great. I prefer the metal mags.

There is no question for me, it's a K100.

However, if you want something larger than 9mm, Grand Power can't help you.

It will be interesting to see how thier future .40 and .45 are recieved.

The K100 just plain outclasses the Glock as a shooting machine, although I'd probably still prefer a Glock in a defensive and or duty application due to the K100's lack of a decocker and cheesy thumb safety.

Its unfair to compare the two without first determining the intended use. If you shoot for fun it really doesn't matter. If you shoot for keeps and have had some professional training the above mentioned "issues" are really non issues.

Recoil from any of the big three calibres (9mm .40 and .45ACP) is non existent if you have a firm grasp on the fundamentals(and train). The trigger pull though not ideal or traditional in its feel is far from non serviceable in the Glock series pistols. Reliability is something very few manufacturers can discuss with honesty. Grand power is not one of them. Control layout, again if you've attended some professional training the control layout is a non issue with most pistols and is near perfect on Glocks as well as SIG pistols. Accuracy is a function of the shooter not the gear which comes back to the individuals level of training and amount of trigger time.

Based on the repeated comments regarding looks, I'd say most on this forum shoot for fun and have no desire or need to shoot for keeps.

The K100 is a fantastic design with the rotating barrel. The grips(both original and MK6) feel very nice and comfortable for most.

The plastic safety doesn't seem very positive. The flat metal safety version I've tried seemed more positive but Canuck223 owns the same version and had problems with it....

Glock is the standard of cheap plastic fantastics. Many will hate the grip but there is so much support for the Glocks that if you needed service, Glock would be easiest to deal with.

Having Shot both, +1
