Glock Warranty?

Guys, Glock experts, need some advice.
I have a Gen3 barrel (with the old parkerized black finish) that came off (showing barrel smilies) the barrel after 200 rounds.
I was wondering IF I can send this to Glock to have it refinish with the Gen4 finish? or is it mission impossible due to being in Canuckistan?
This would not be a warranty repair because there is nothing wrong with the gun, the finish (parkerizing) comes off naturally in these models but I was wondering if sending pistols to Glock is possible.

Cheers!

My advice would be to give Casey a call at TacOrd? he could GunKote the barrel for a modest cost, or I suppose he could let you know who the new Glock distributor is? and you could contact them. You can buy spray GunKote from Brownells and paint it yourself? I did that with my G19 barrel. Just remember to degrease it well and then bake it in the oven for an hour.

Barrel is going to show wear eventually, it's not detrimental to the functioning of the pistol. You'll just end up paying a lot of money to get it refinished only to get smile faces again after a few more range sessions, then you send it off for refinishing again? Don't buy a Sig 226 etc if you don't like the smile faces. :)

haha I know.
I am not worried about function.
Thanks for the comments guys.

I think there was a CGNer who polished off the finish on his Glock barrel so it's got a SS look to it. Or pickup a Storm Lake or LoneWolf barrel? :)

I believe the glock distributor is korth.

You have other options for better finishes, DLC, TInitrate, many PVD coatings with high rockwell hardness of 80-90........I just had a custom Glock 17 barrel made for me by KKM/ZEV tech, they machined it then coated it for me....Their hardest coating available for a barrel is DLC, and its black like I wanted so I went with that...

I also have Cerkote that I am going to try out on a few pieces, but it goes on like a paint and then is baked. I dont know the rockwell numbers on cerakote but I dont see how it could be anywhere close to a PVD coating like DLC etc...Also PVD goes on thinner so there is less wear on tolerance fit parts, due to a coating like cerkote adding to thickness of the part causing it to wear through

So you might want to spend a little money outside of warrenty if you wan to refinish it with something durable

EDIT
Just looking in my Cerakote stuff and it only has 65 rockwell hardness, its not the worst, but not the best either in terms of hardness and wear resistance

Thank you, this is very interesting. I might look into it. Thanks again.

I do not know what nitrocarbuazition is but I am sure wikipedia knows! lol
I will look into it as I am really interested!

My Glock's case has a Korth sticker on it. OP - You could get it nitrocarburized by Arma-Coat, that would be permanent.
