How about a sub-discussion on 9mm or.40s&w.

Found a 9mm G17 in good shape with trijicon night sights, exactly what i wanted, that i'm thinking about getting but at the same time i sometimes wonder if i'd rather have the g22. ugh. It would be my first centerfire gun so I'm thinking that everyone needs a 9mm to beat over the years and then i can always get a sig or something different in different calibers.

:dancingbanana:It took me a while to get over the looks of the no frills Glocks

see to me i think the glocks look the best out of most of the guns i've been looking at. well, except that sig equinox. damn it's nice, but out of my budget.

I have a Glock in my favourite cartridge 10mm. Cheap, reliable and powerful what's not to like? Plus 10mm feels like 9mm in the Glock frame. The blast not so much but who cares?

I voted No even though I have one.

Sitting in the safe with a mag of XTPs on top of the valuables and some cash - OK.
Carrying on my hip in South Africa for a couple weeks - OK.

Otherwise - yeucch.

I'm in Canada. 100% of my shooting is target shooting.
The two things that make a decent target gun are a good trigger and good sights.
Glocks have neither. There are far better choices.

I have to say no.
Sure they are 100% reliable.
Sure they are good shooter's.
Sure the best shooter's in the world use them. (Dave Sevigny & Jessie Abbate)
But they just don't seem to fit nicely in my hand. Now I know alot of you are going to hate me on this but it's just my opinion. Some people like them and some people don't. Me I am one of the very few who don't. But please don't tell the Sarge!

Extremely well put, altough I voted yes

Don't own one. May change that. Was looking at a 17C and a 34. I have shot with many people who do very, very well with their Glocks.
But I've also been considering a S&W M&P 9.

I really love the look of this G22. Lot of apparent wear from use, like an old pair of jeans. It give him style. 30,000 rounds is quite impressive, but i am sure you can easily shoot an other 30,000 with no problem.

I vote yes, like my G17, It is not the best or any perfect gun, the flame was very cheap made but if people on a budget but want a reliable gun, then it is hard to beat a $600 shooting iron with good record.

NO, I don't like/own Glocks and not intend to buy one in the future.
I never had a cheap plastic gun in my wish list...!
Vote for SS SIG/ SS 1911/SS Beretta, only full metal pistols.

First centerfire HG was a Glock 17. There were some hiccups and burps breaking in. Sold it and moved on to 1911's and the newer polymer guns which basically took the positive features of Glock but refined the trigger and ergonomics. For full size pistols HK and Walther works much better for me than full size Glock.

However, those mini Glocks are available in Canada and the mini Walther/HK are not so I'll probably own a Glock again....G26 or maybe a G36.
