Glock17 <> XD9

What can I expect to pay in total (pice + tax + shipping)? You know since I hate calling knowing very well I still have about 30 days before my restricted clears.

My XD .40 with three additional mags (five total), taxed and shipped, was about $930 to my door in BC. The price for the pistol alone is (or at least was then) $705.

I am interested in IPSC as well, is XD with 5" bbl good enough for shooting in Production class or barrel has to be under 5".

Thanks

Peter

Yes, the XD Tactical size pistols with 5" barrels are on the Approved Pistol list for IPSC Production.
BTW, although Springfield advertises the XD Tactical models as having a 5.1" barrel, the barrels are actually just under 5" long.

Yes, actually I know two guys in Edmonton that are using an XD9 in IPSC Production Division and do really well.Xray

The price of the Glock will vary depending on the sights that come with it. Fixed, adjustable or Trijicon 3 dot night sights. Xray

I greatly suggest you shoot both first before making final decision.
both are good guns, but which one fits better in your hands is what matters !
which one feels right & how it reacts in your hands will make the difference on how well you can shoot it.
Good luck :)

When you shoot both side-by-side, you'll probably prefer the XD9 over the G17 for handleability and accuracy. The XD9 also feels less "plasticky" than the G17. The XD9's grip angle is identical to a P226...much more natural.
However:
-You can buy parts for a G17 anywhere.
-You can't buy parts for an XD9 anywhere.
Both are solid, reliable and accurate guns, but even Rolls-Royce has a parts department. ;)
I own one of each. (except for the Rolls..)

I think I gonna go with XD. I hear lots of good about both, but l like the longer barrel on XD and fact that the gun is cheaper then Glock.

I really got hooked on handguns :)
